375ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of light brown head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark chocolate and light roasted grains with hints of coffee and raisins. Taste is a light roasted grain and mild hop bitterness with a raisin and dark chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Pleases the palate nicely. Overall, a porter that is nicely balanced and quite tasty. pinkzambia (2069) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 11, 2015

Pour on tap at Black Bottle, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, some sweet sugary caramel and brown sugar with a hint of earth, spice, touch of wood. Taste was a mix of cocoa, roast, coffee, dark chocolate, milk chocolatey notes into a bit of slight dark fruit, wood, spice, finishing slightly sweet. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - FEB 22, 2015
375, capped and waxed. Dig the label and the name. Pours nearly black with a huge, surging, sudsy light tan head. No lace. Mild tangy chocolatey sweet nose. Creamy medium body, light carb. Chocolatey sweet mid palate, not much else going on. Long sweetish finish. dfinney23 (3395) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 30, 2014

On tap at Falling Rock. More like an American Dark Lager or Schwarzbier. Too much residual sugar. Dusty. onceblind (10322) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 16, 2012
At 2012 Avery Strong Ale Fest. Dark dark brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma has some brown malts and chocolaty esters with a light pale malt undertone. Taste is sweet with toffee and roasted caramalt tones, with some earthiness, not much bitterness or hop presence but it isn’t cloying. Just a dusty brown ale, lacking body. cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 30, 2011
Tap @ Trinity. Deep brown (not black) appearance with a light brown head. Roasty malty, chocolate, coffee aroma. Flavor was very smooth, dark roasty malty with notes of espresso and chocolate. I really didn’t get the wood. Tasty beer. BDR (2534) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - DEC 17, 2010
Dark majoring color with off white head. Rich roasted malt body will a light lager yeast peaking through. Chocolates and faint coffee.
