2012-08-18. Lightly hazy dark yellow body, modest white head. Odd perfumey floral aroma, lightly funky. 6+ Flavour is malty with a bit of fruity sourness, pale malt, floral hops. 6+ Average plus palate. not loving the floral character. Bottle shared at Kramer’s Campground Brewdown 2012. One of the memorable beers for me personally. Pours a bright cloudy yellow body with thick haze. Aroma is lemon, wheat, zest and funk. peach. Weak head. Nose is lavender soap, salt, lemongrass, and ginger. Sort of like a Grandma’s house aroma. Taste is soapy and malty. Bitter chemical

750 mL 2010 bottle, thanks Aaron! Gusher bottle, but nice hazy yellowish pour with fluffy white head, aroma has notes of nice lemon, brett, nice funk and some nice floral, spice notes, touch of vanilla, milky notes but nice with yeast. Taste is lemon, nice vanilla, biscuit, floral, tropical fruits, hint of pine and slight lactic acid but very small, finishing nice and fruity and tart. Balanced, tasty, delicious.

2010 bottle @ Armin’s post-Scott’s Summer Saison tasting. Gusher but it didn’t appear so at first. Cloudy, yellowish orange appearance with a white head. Fairly spicy, nicely floral, tangy bretty, spicy pineapple/lemon, lightly earthy aroma. One of the best aromas of an incredible saison tasting night. Cinnamon spicy, fairly spicy, refreshing lemon spritzy, somewhat tangy/lightly sour, nutmeg spicy, a touch woody flavor. Bravo. Bravo. Bravo. One of the best Saisons I’ve ever had. Should have shared this with Scott and co. Funky, spicy, fruity, refreshing. Fuck yeah. I guess I’m rating way higher than anyone else, but sweet jesus, this is just about perfect right now. How: Bottle 750ml, kind-of-waxed top (lazy waxing here). Not sure of exact age but consumed about two months after receiving the bottle from adnielsen, thanks a lot Aaron
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose is very rustic/dusty attic, an intrinsic spiciness sensation akin to white pepper, lemon zest. Taste is sharp. Crisp malt backbone that seems an equal mix pale malts, crystal malts and wheat. Strong rustic yeast character. Spiciness of the minerals kinds (salt, white pepper, etc.). Dust. Lemon zest. A nice hopping that is part wild flowers and party dry grassy yellowed grass. Dry grassy bitterness. A kick-ass true Saison. A great true-to-the style Saison from Colorado, one the 50 states where people believe their pride and patriotism is above average compared to the rest of the country.
750 ml bottle. Sweet. Pours a rich murky golden dulled hue, a big cakey brighter whitish head that is huge, laces ok. Stays bigger overall. Aromas are a rich Farmhouse yeast, decent spice, touches of vanilla and a bigger fruity pear and yeast. Dry bread, a faint spice grows, with good banana, pear, fruit, touches of citrus. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, thinned out and cleared up with gentle sweetness, bread, pale malts, grain, fruity esters, spicy yeast. Gentle peppercorn, dry bread dough, touches of pear, apple. Gentle spice, dryness into the backend and middle, really nice experience as it dries out, the finish gets a bit spicy. Bottle at a tasting at James’ place. Pours a very hazy gold with a medium sized white head. Minty, eucalyptus, medicinal, but still rather nice, very herbal and bright musky yeast. Medium bodied, spicy and still a touch herbal, but not in a bad way. Minty, herbal, spicy with a touch of juniper. Long herbal touches, spicy yeast. Nice and quite different.
