3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clear dark ruby brown with a small beige head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of cherry, balsamic vinegar, oak, toasted nut, and sour apple. Flavor is sour apple, cherry, vinegar, oak and some earthy notes. Medium bodied, acidic, lingering sour apple. Dry finish.
Poured from a 750 ml bottle from 2013 I think.
Aroma is acidic with lots of berry, cherry, raisin and cassis notes. Some caramel, toasted bread, toffee and moderate nuttiness. The almond notes are interesting and work decently well with the fruity notes.
Pours a dark. murky, brown with some auburn hues and a thin, small, faint tan head that recedes immediately to the edges where a small amount lingers for a bit. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is fairly acidic and somewhat sharp with some caramel, toffee and lots of nut notes. Only some light sweetness. Fairly fruity with raisin, berry, cherry and fig. Low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, an alright beer but the lack of carbonation really hurts the beer. The toasted almonds are nice and work well with the fruit and acidity, but the acidity si a bit sharp for the beer. A bit better as it warms. markducommun (1121) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 12, 2016
Cloudy mahogany, no head. Musty earthy, deeply sour berries. Slight vanilla, very light roasted character. Quite sour, some light sweetness. Medium body, very acidic. Lighter alcohol. Fairly dry, long finish. Very nice.

Pours juncoear amber with a sandy beige head. Aroma brings sweet and tart balanced very well with the toasted almonds bringing a smoky note as well.
