750mL bottle, sent from robloc303 (thanks a lot, Rob), pours a clear dark orange with a tiny head - seems flat. Nose of dry citrus hops, some pine, some wild fruitys, and biscuity malt. Flavour seems like a double wild IPA, with notes of tropical fruits, caramel malts, some resinous hops, and syrupy residual sweetness. Solid stuff, but not my kind of IIPA. Tap at Trinity. Pours hazy copper orange with fine white head. Decent retention and thin lacing. Aroma is strong hops, bitter, piney, resinous, citrus and floral. Flavor is strong citrus and piney hops fading smoothly into a nutty, sweet malt finish. Resinous and citrus hop aftertaste. Surprisingly balanced and much better than expected. Alcohol is well hidden. Soft carbonation, medium body, and smooth texture, mildly oily finish. Pleasantly surprised by this one, though I wouldn’t pay for a bottle. A tasty, malty DIPA. Poured a dark amber color with off white head.
Taste was sweet malt, biscuit, bready hops. Decent but lacking substance SmokeyDaBear (150) - - NOV 9, 2013
Poured at Trinity. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Very hoppy but very manageable. Alcohol is well hidden. Slightly bitter with a pine finish. ineedbeer (2153) - Oakland, California, USA - OCT 27, 2013

Aroma is fairly hoppy with a moderate dank and woodsy note with background citrus and tropical fruit. Malt profile is medium light with caramel, honey and some cracker. Very similar aroma to Flo.
Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange with a slight copper note. Small white head that recedes but a thin film lingers on tip and along the edges.
Flavor has a light cracker and biscuit malt character with some cracker. High bitterness with a fairly resinous hop flavor. Light tropical fruit and citrus with some moderate dank notes. Medium alcohol note in the finish. Hop bitterness helps dry this out.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium light carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall an enjoyable big IPA, but it could use a bigger hip character. Especially in the flavor the hops are a lacking compared to the malt and alcohol. Could be a touch drier as well.

This wowser of a double IPA has a somewhat pale orange colored body with a nose that’s a little sour, hoppy, has perfume-like characteristics, and gives off a soapy vibe. The aroma is hoppy, but very interesting and complex. Its flavors are just as strong and wildly mild in bouquet… bright, fresh, and potent! Braudog (6716) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - AUG 24, 2013
Bottle (thanks, Jake!). We opened three, and there was inconsistency between the three bombers. Not a great sign. The better of the bottles had moderate activity and body. The lesser was completely flat. All were hazy, flat orange color. The beer drinks with a definite herbal edge, mashy and earthy, musty and almost woody.
