Collaboration between Trinity and New Belgium Brewing. This Berliner Weisse is raw and crude with authenticity. Brewed with over 50% wheat malts, this recipe is never boiled to encourage a soft sourness and notable high protein mouth feel. To the kettle we added Soursop fruit creating notes of lemon and coconut. Fermentation is a blended one, imploring Lactobacillus, Bretta, and a German Ale yeast. Aged on French Oak Barrels.

Pour on tap at Avery Sourfest 2013, clear golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of bread, dough, biscuit into a bit of lemon peel, tart lacto, touch of corn into a bit of grassy, grainy notes. Taste was a mix of grass, lemon peel, earth into a bit of lacto, corn, some grain into a slight white fruity notes with a hint of vanilla.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle, 565, dated 3/2013. Aroma is moderately grainy and wheat based with some moderate acidity and light citrus. Faint tropical fruit notes. Pours a somewhat cloudy, pale yellow straw with a faint white head that recedes quickly to the edges and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a moderately strong acidity with some lactic character and a bit of citrus. Touches of wheat notes with some faint fruit character. Not as complex acidity as in the more highly scored versions of the style. Acidity is a bit harsh and chemically. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium light carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer with a lot of acidity but the complexity is lacking. Hints of fruit, wheat and malt,

Bottle pour at Hunahpu 14. This was our favorite of the four Trinity we tried. Well balanced tart. Lots of different fruit - lemon, orange peach. Wine, wood. Really nice. 8.0

Shared from a 750ml. Bright aroma of citrus and lacto, lemon sorbet, aged citrus peel. Crystal clear yellow, very little head, thicker body than expected. Not quite syrupy, but a nice, thick body and mouthfeel. Tart lemon wedges, lemonade. Quite delicious and a very unique berliner. I think of berliners being very sessionable and quaffable, but this is more of a special sour with Berliner qualities and shows how unique and special Trinity is.

Bottle thanks to Bill. Pours a clear yellow with small off white hewd that diminish to nothing. The aroma is lemon zest, funk, and oak. Thin mouthfeel with light tart lemon and funk with nice light dry finish. Really enjoyed this.

Poured from a 750ml bottle. I have been looking forward to this one. The aroma is brite with lactobacillus acidity. The flavor is where this beer shines... sour apple, bready, slightly dusty, some soft tropical fruit notes in the background. This is a great Berliner Weisse.

Bottle from the BoostedIPA, thanks Shawn! Pours a heavily hazed yellow with no head. Aroma is fresh and acid, full of (yellow) fruits. There is also a strange rubber feel to it, too, but it isnt offputting. Taste is acid and maybe a little salty (not sure of my notes on this one?...). Lemons but not mouth puckering. Body is really light, alcohol content too. It is really tasty and also refreshing. Nice!

Bottle (750 ml). Shared by mathieuc, thanks! Slightly hazy pale yellow with no head and no lacing. Aroma is lemony and fruits with a nice wine presence, wood, brettanomyces and lactic notes. Taste is lemony with juiy tropical fruits, nice tartness, wine, wood and lactic notes. Light body. Low carbonation. Grassy finish. Super drinkable and tasty. Up to now, I love what I have tried from Trinity Brewing. Nice stuff.
