Now this is a great beer. Lots of depth to the flavor, a touch of fruit, yeast, spiciness, oh man. I can describe. An undercurrent of toasted goodness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black, with a small, off-white head and good lacing. The nose is lemon peel, milk chocolate, apple, and a distinct note of root beer. Sweet up front, with a light bitterness and tartness through the finish. Medium body, creamy, acidic, and smooth. An interesting and surprisingly delicious beer.

12.7 ounce wax topped bottle, no dating that I could find on it but I’m pretty sure I’ve had this bottle at least a few months. This one was a gusher, it took the head a while to settle down before it was ready to drink. Served in a chalice, the beer pours a very dark brown color with a huge frothy tan head that stuck around for a very long time. There’s also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like root beer, flowers, sweet spices and some dark fruit/berries. The brew tastes like sweet spices, root beer, dark fruit, grainy malt, tart berries and an herbal earthiness. Mouthfeel/body is medium with a lot of carbonation. The 12.2% ABV is well hidden. I thought this was good, glad I got to try this one! $8.49 a bottle.

Had a bottle early saturday at falling rock during gabf ’15 .. . pours a big bubbled cola .. medium lacing .. . dirty grain, cereal husks, tar, and tart gritty toaster crumbs .. . mouth is too fizzy, but the abv is crazy well masked .. decent but a wrong turn for enjoyment .. . . I need the apartment tonight.Go see a saucy puppet show.

Dark Saison sounded so good to me in 2003. Oh well. Oily odd oddness. New school US offness. Not my thing. Like an adambier.
