Brewed for Kunstencentrum Vooruit, celebrating their 100th anniversary.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, wheat syrup, hops, yeast. From the website (Google translate from French): "On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the Kunstencentrum De Vooruit Ghent wished to remind the brewing activity he had had in the early 1900. In this context, the Brasserie Dupont was asked to create a beer based on their wishes. Given the success of this new beer at the event, it was decided to open production for all customers. * Organic beer, amber color, dry and bitter with a smoky note (specifically peat) in aroma and taste. This phenolic characteristic is obtained by using a small percentage of malt specially dried with Scottish peat (malt whiskey)."

(Bottle, 0.75 l - BBE 12/2017, at William K Kurvi, 20170322) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white and it lasted long. Aroma had grass, sweetness and smoke. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, yeast, spiciness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy and bitter. A decent hoppy saison.

BBD: 08/2018.
In short: smoked belgian ale.
Pours hazy amber with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Malty, caramel, toffee, fruity, belgian yeast nose. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is smooth, malty, little sweet, some evident smoked notes. Well balanced, enjoyable.

rumore (989) - Rimini, ITALY - JAN 28, 2017
From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours orange hazy with limited white foam. Aroma is partly citrus, partly smoked. It also has some aroma typical of acid beers. Body is medium, with good carbonation, some astringency. Taste is moderately bitter, with some acidity. Finish is dry.

My Bottom Line:
Beautifully bready aromas pervade this brew’s cushy cereals, while subtle smoke latches on to herbal hoppiness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the hazy amber.
-You can recognize the Dupont yeast signature all over this one.
-The smoke is subtle enough not to bother those who don’t like smoked beers.
-The natural effervescence helps build a comfortable mouthfeel.

In goût de maïs?

Sissio (1830) - Orsenigo, ITALY - NOV 21, 2016
Clear gold copper, cream head. Carbonation, honey and smoked malts, apricots, peaty. Acidic note, peaty whiskey aroma, cereals, oarmeal cakes in the finish.

Silvan7 (1281) - Samarate, ITALY - OCT 31, 2016
Bottle @ home.

Lonick (2537) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 26, 2016
Bottle @cgarvieuk - The Xmas Tasting 2016. Pours golden white head. Nose is fruity, slight smoke, some herbal notes as well. Taste is lemon, slight farmyard funk, slightly more smokey than the nose.
