First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

Kolor słomkowy, bardzo obfita, średniopęcherzykowa piana. W aromat mocno fenolowy, dużo owoców, winogrona, morele, kwaśne jabłka, troszeczkę banana, guma balonowa. W smaku dosyć delikatne, dominują jasne owoce jak w aromacie, trochę zboża. Całkiem duże wysycenie, alkoholu raczej nie czuć, aczkolwiek grzeje lekko w przełyk. Bardzo dobry trippel.

Primero elaborado en 1996; afirmó estar basado en una receta de 1679 que usaba trigo, avena y cebada. Tripel Karmeliet es un brebaje dorado a bronce muy refinado y complejo con una fantástica cabeza cremosa. Estas características se derivan no solo de los granos utilizados, sino también de saltos restringidos con Styrians y la naturaleza afrutada (plátano y vainilla) de la levadura de la casa. El aroma tiene toques de vainilla mezclada con aromas cítricos. Tripel Karmeliet tiene no solo la ligereza y la frescura del trigo, sino también la cremosidad de la avena junto con una sequedad picante a limón y casi quinina.

Nice aroma of fruits like peach, apples, bubble gum but also a tune of yoghurt. Lively carbonatioin, a bit of alcohol in taste, a bit sweet and bitter at the end. Rich and intense tastes of banana, bubble gum, fruits.
