COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

Nice aroma of fruits like peach, apples, bubble gum but also a tune of yoghurt. Lively carbonatioin, a bit of alcohol in taste, a bit sweet and bitter at the end. Rich and intense tastes of banana, bubble gum, fruits.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2018 Bouteille 33cl.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2018 Una buena cerveza. Es fuerte pero se bebe muy bien, el sabor es equilibrado y no se hace 'pesada' al rato. Muy recomendable.

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, big frothy white head. Taste: Just below medium sweet malty, notes of yeast, yellow fruit. Hints of banana and lemon. Medium body, below average to soft carbonation. Very nice balanced tripel, combining sweet, lightly sour, yeasty and fruity notes. Fortunately less sweet than most other tripels.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2018 Une bière agréable en bouche avec très peu d'amertume. Elle se laisse facilement boire malgré le titrage en alcool.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2018 I was quite impressed with this Tripel! Got it at the Stouffville LCBO via their World Beer Program. Poured a golden amber colour with a head that lasted while (don't understand how people below said that the head disappeared quickly). Spicy and sweet notes with hint of banana with a slightly sour finish. The sour finish wasn't offputting for me. An impressive tripel that's a bit on the lighter side but is still complex! Great beer!

It is a light taste beer. It doesn’t have lots of flavor, but it is easy to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
