UPDATED: JUN 5, 2009 Orange/amber pour with good clarity. Half-inch persistent head.
A lot of wheat on the aroma, as well a perfumy orange blossom, soft alcohol, some spicy and floral hops and a bit of lemon.
Flavour is quite similar, but with the expected doughy belgian yeast coming through.
Highly effervescent, very prickly. Some alcohol warming on the palate.
The wheat put a spin on things, but otherwise this is just a typical belgian tripel, albeit quite a tasty one.... ha1ag (897) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 5, 2009
Bottled, tnx to Viktor! Color is hazy yellow, with thick creamy slightly off-white head. Nice lacing. Nose is fruity and slightly alcoholic. Aroma has fruits, malt. Flavour is dominated by sweet hops and alcohol. Carbonation gives it a pleasant mouthfeel and hops take care of the aftertaste. Nicely brewed triple, but I can’t see the many 4+’s. Alcohol is too much dominant for that. grandet (501) - Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 4, 2009
Bottle from jessup plaza. poured a nice reddish yellow color with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma was nice and spicy with lots of sweet malt and some clove. Taste was nice and refreshing with lots of sweet malt and clove. Very drinkable and good. 40ounce (1) - California, USA - MAY 4, 2009 does not count

33cl bottle poured into a Chimay Trappist glass. Nice golden color with about one finger of head. Smells like spiced apples. Tastes spicy and hoppy with a some fruit undertones. Very well balanced beer. Great brew. ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 3, 2009
Classic Belgian yeast, clover like and a light hop floral aroma. Color was golden, with a creamy low carbonation head. Flavor had mostly clover, with some ripe apple and perhaps even pineapple. Palate was creamy with a light alcohol tinge at the finish. Good stuff, but not spectacular. thebaldwizard (1207) - Ohio, USA - MAY 2, 2009
Shared by a friend of Bobby91W at DLD--Matt maybe? From a 3 liter bottle that was ’95 vintage I believe. This was reallyy incredible. Soft yellow pour. The aroma was light with yeast, and caramel scents as well as a bit of lemon. Really refreshing flavor. Lightly sweet fruits, apples, pears, with a hint of citrus. Great brew! Is there a better tripel than this? Not for me. Straw color, fluffy head, banana/clove in the nose, great sweet candy flavor, and tons of good alcohol.
