Aroma is full of yeast and sweet malts, and some dark fruits. It’s appearance is golden color, with a light head. It’s flavor is full of medium-dark malts, some sweetness, and sweet fruit. It’s a bit to sweet, but otherwise a fine brew. Pinball (12231) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 11, 2008
very nice aroma, sweet fruity bitterness from alcohol takes my rating down, but it’s a great brew. acearl (510) - The Ham, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 10, 2008
Golden hue, sweet yeasty and somewhat thin, sweet = carmel characteristics, above average. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - AUG 10, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2013 This is another tripel I’ve always felt was slightly overrated, mostly because it continues to strike me as too thin and too sweet. Certainly the latter is probably what some folks dig about it. But for a beer of this strength, I want more balance instead of one characteristic dominating. Not bad by any stretch, and certainly it is an attractive beer in some ways. Just not my cup of tripel.
Update: 10/1/2011. On tap at Milltown, sampled on the recommendation of emacgee, I was really pleasantly surprised by the balance and complexity I didn’t find in the bottled version. YUM. Bragesnak (5394) - Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 9, 2008

[Tap] Poured a clear golden color with a large, rocky, off white head. Aroma is lots of banana and clove from the yeast, a little bit of bread, and some slight hops and candi sugar. Flavor matches quite well, and the alcohol was never noticed at all. Not much tartness from the wheat, but the earthiness is there. Overall a very drinkable, dangerous tripel. pojo41 (315) - Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA - AUG 5, 2008
750 ml bottle. Poured a golden straw color with a fluffy white head that lasted the entire way. Sweet, slightly malty aroma with a hint of caramel.
Biscuit malt flavor with a bit of cider and fruity esters thrown in for good measure a long with a hint of hop bitterness and alcohol. Although noticable, the alcohol flavors were not overpowering. Excellent mouthfeel made this a really fine, complex ale. Bradrcr (806) - Renton, Washington, USA - AUG 4, 2008
7/5/08 at the Seattle International Beerfest. Aroma is banana fruity with substantial pepper for a tripel. Appearance is clear yellow with a low white head. Flavor is sweet sugary fruit with moderate bittering. Mouthfeel is low bodied with a medium carb texture. Overall, delicious and complex.

primarily orange and wheat, dry. lacks the typical belgian carbonation level. Pretty nice for a trippel, but would have more bite if carbonation were higher. phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 3, 2008
This beer was worth every penny, definately a refresher after the last few beers i tried weren’t that great. Pours a vibrant golden colour with a large white top. Carbonation is excellent, awesome retention in the head. Aroma is slightly sweet, and somewhat floral with a little bit of carmel undertones. taste is fabulous- acidic, citrusy- lots of tropical fruit- orange, lime, and a faint peach.
