COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

Bottle from Smak Piwa. Beer served in Flute Glass. Pours slightly cloudy amber with big and thick head. Belgian yeasts and glucose dominates the aroma, along with marmalade, yellow and red fruits, mild spiciness and malts. Flavor is rich, deep malty backbone with apricots, cherries, apple, pear and berries notes. A little champagne like.

like an aged red wine, it takes some time for the aroma to evolve after opening the bottle, but then it’s very deep. a little too sweet for me, but totally acceptable.

Tap at Craftownia. Peach aroma, a lot of fruits, some yougurth notes. Very pleasant. Taste is rather sweet, a lot of peaches, other fruits. Medium body, smooth. Very good tripel, personal best.
