2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours soft peachy amber with one finger of sandy tan head. Piney nose and very sharp flavor. Super bitter and astringent. Some peach and peanut hull notes with some pretty serious diacetyl.
Pours up a nice golden color with a frothy white head. Aroma is mostly booze. Some malts. Taste is definitely malty, good balance. Not overly hoppy. Lots of caramel, and a touch of resin. Good stuff. freekyp (2330) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - JUL 29, 2017
A great DIPA that leans towards balance over hop assault. Plenty of caramel malt buoys the relatively mlld citrus hops. Hop candy. Some resin. Nice lightly sweet caramelly fade. Pours clear amber with a bug rocky white head. Drinks lighter than It’s 8.5% would portend. Ernest (7719) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 2, 2017
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain, caramel), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, apricot), with notes of industrial chemicals / rubber / glue / plastic, fruit cocktail, corn syrup, rancid butter.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Medium to full body, syrupy/watery texture, lively/soft carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic.
Badly dirty nose impairs one’s enthusiasm right out of the gate, sadly. Lots of off chemical-ish odors, and even the hops can’t save it. Syrupy-goopy sweet without enough bitterness to fend off the sugars...only the alcohol burn is some sort of match for it, and that’s not exactly the most desirable thing either. A pretty awful beer, to be blunt. Looks nice though (other than the can artwork, which is also pretty awful). chinchill (5072) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 7, 2016
16 oz can.
Amber body with excellent clarity and a decent head.
Strong hop flavor but with lots of balancing malt sweetness, leaving this with low bitterness for style.

COD 5/16/16 Pours a clear dark amber, similar to a brown. World class head volume, lacing and retention.
Very good nose of rich toasted malt, caramel, light grapefruit with a touch of orange and a slight pine note.
Light medium body that is very smooth. Below normal carbonation level that leaves the carbonation / body balance lacking and fails to really open up the flavor. Mid-palate effervescence is almost adequate but the finish is where the effervescence is lacking.
The flavor profile is good. The base has a rich toasted malt character that the hopping level never quite balances. Bitterness is mild, which is acceptable for the style, but hop flavor is particularly lacking - all you get is a mild zest and pine note. Caramel arrives as a nice wave in the middle coupled with a nutty aspect. As it warms, the toasted malts assert themselves and also deliver a slightly burned bready note. When the sweetness fades, astringent alcohol becomes uncovered to a moderate degree. The finish is a slow, slightly sweet, fade that ends with light zest and pine coupled with uncovered alcohol and a touch of heat. scotchzombie (596) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JUN 7, 2016
Out of can poolside. Aroma is grapefruit citrus. Taste is sweet caramel malt and citrus hops with a bitter grapefruit lean. Like a high gravity sweeter Dales Pale Ale. Nicely balanced. OrthoDoc (189) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 19, 2016
Aroma of sweet malts and with some piney hops in the background. Taste is in the maltier side with the pine hops again the the back. Medium mouth feel with a medium finish. Bitterness also medium. Nothing special.

I agree with the other reviewer. It does taste like a home brew. Good body and malt flavor. A share from friend Beck. Scouser (351) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 3, 2015
Pours a nice amber colour with white lacing and head. A nice looking beer. Mild malt aroma. Malty, metallic taste, not sure this sits in the DIPA catergory. Tastes like a home brew. Not a a bad beer, but I’m not a fan.
