On tap at Toronado. Pours with a pitch black body with a lasting tan head and good lace. Aromas are roasty, coffee, bready, vanilla. Smooth and pretty light on the burnt grain (high kilned). Lots of floral, baked bread and vanillin aromas. Flavors are bready, roasty, dry and lightly ashy. Smooth roast, no acrid flavors. Light vanilla, florals and a bit of anise. A - Served a dark black color with a hint of brown around the edges and a finger of frothy chocolate colored head atop. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some good lacing.
S - The aroma is a nice mix of roasted chocolate malts with a bit of lactose sweetness and some earthy hops. There is a bit of oak in the background.
T - Starts off with roasted milk chocolate malts with a bit of oak. Through the middle some earthy hop flavor comes through with a bit of burnt bitter chocolate. The finish is a mix of sweet roasted chocolate, oak, a touch of booze, and some earthy hops that linger together.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. The beer feels smooth with a nice warming, slightly sweet and bitter finish.

On draft at Triple Rock. It pours black with a brown head. The aroma has chocolate with lots of roasted malt and hints of anise, wood and raisins. The flavor is extremely rich and roasted with wood, coffee and dark chocolate. Huge body and an ashy finish. Lightly carbonated. A very bold stout without much sweetness to balance the intense roasted flavors. Still an outstanding stout.
