Draft. A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is dominated by notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, lending it a slight acidic edge, before the dry finish sets in.

Sample at the brewpub on 8/8/10. Darkest brown/black pour with a thick tan head. Roasty coffee nose with some chocolate and a nitro metallic character that isn’t too prevalent. Super roasty flavor with a bit of chocolate and a bitter roasty finish.

Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 18, 2009
On tap @ the brewpub. Pours dark amber with infra red edges and thin tan head. The moderate aroma emits roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and mild oxidation notes. The taste has a brief pulse of black strap molasses followed by earthiness, highly roasted to burnt malts and some coffee grounds. Before the coffee really picks up steam I get mild notes of chocolate malts and the faintest oxidation note. Very light astringency leaves this beer more neutral than dry.
