Growler - poured by Mr. Lowry himself, thanks Phil. Clear amber golden with a creamy off-white head. Soft aroma of peachy hops and licorice allsorts. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, lightly sweet burned caramel and a distinct hoppy finish. 110709

From growler. Pours clear and golden deep orange with small white head. Aroma is roasted malty and crisp hoppy with distinct hops fruity note. Bitter and dry fruity flavoured finish Very very smooth and elegant, not too heavy on the hops nor on the malt base.

Bottle labeled Triple Rock Lowry’s IPA, I thought. 6th rating of this beer. Shared by a generous soul at Stone Sourfest. Bright amber yellow in the glass. White ring and lace. Nose is sweet hoppiness and light malt. Flavor is a tart hoppiness with hints of caramel. Nice bitterness on the end. This was my 36th and final rating at Sourfest. I’m sorry I can’t here and now specifically thank the person who shared this.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a cream colored head. Oak aroma with malt and some woodsiness. Oak and vanilla flavor with caramel and woodsiness. Medium bodied. Vanilla and oak lingers with woodsiness, light pine hops and malt. Decent bitterness, but somewhat overwhelmed by the oak.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2009 On tap at 3Rock, pours clear amber with a touch of red and no head. Nose is sweet citrus and malt, but not so much caramel. Flavor is quite the same with a decent complexity. A sweet orange like citrus front followed by earthy mid to finish. Some nice oak influence in the finish which is dry with a smooth mouthfeel. RERATE: Went to 3Rock today for lunch, and a friend gave me a sip of his beer that I was outstanding. I ordered one up and asked what it was. I was told it was Lowry’s English, but it was quite different than I remembered. This beer is really coming into its own, with smooth caramel and vanilla from the oak. Extremely easy drinking with a dry oak finish.

Golden amber with no head. Sweet orange and caramel aroma. Earthy straw and leather taste with some astringency.
