On tap at brewery. Clear dark yellow with a fizzy white head. Sweet grassy grapefruit and caramel aroma. Tastes of grass, grapefruit, and caramel with an earthy bitter finish that borders on soapy. ngeunit1 (1555) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 12, 2011
A - Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange color with a thin finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades fairly quickly leaving behind some nice lace. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 10, 2011
S - Aroma is a mix of citrus and earthy hop with some lemon and a touch of spice. There is just a bit of sweet malt in the background.
T - Starts off with lots of citrus and lemon hop flavor with a bit of bitterness and a touch of sweet malt. Through the middle, some more earthy hops flavors come through with a touch of grassy spicy notes. The finish is a mix of lemon and other citrus flavors with a bit of mango with a bit of bitterness.
M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a slightly dry finish.
D - Very drinkable. Really showcases the Nelson hop nicely with a super sessionable beer.
On draft at Triple Rock. It pours yellow/orange with a nice small creamy head. The aroma is really fantastic showcasing the Nelson hop beautifully with lots of tropical fruit mainly pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, peach and hints of white grape. The flavor delivers big time as well being very dry with hints of pine and grassy spiciness up front followed by lots of grapefruit, pineapple and tangerine. Very potent hop concentration at a low ABV. A little light on the palate with a bitter finish. Perhaps just a touch more malt character would have made this world class, but it still stands as one of the best Nelson hoppy beers I’ve had. bb (9789) - Alamo, California, USA - NOV 30, 2011
Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Light grapefruit and citrus aroma with light malt. Lemony citrus flavor with light grapefruit, light grass, and light malt. Medium bodied. Citrus and earthiness lingers with light grass and light malt.
