Tap. Dark black ale with a light chocolate aroma. Bitter chocolate. Lactic overtones. Some sweetness in finish. Light bodied yet good. (June 2004). stephen (308) - California, USA - DEC 1, 2002
I wish they would have put diacetyl in the commercial description because this was loaded with it. Roast was hidden under butter. Slightly metallic. Slightly fruity as well. sarie99 (50) - San Francisco, Alabama, USA - DEC 1, 2002
Sweet buttery flavor. Ok on the bitterness. Wasn't impressed............. jazz88 (2699) - San Francisco, California, USA - OCT 29, 2002
Tap. Solid black with a creamy brown head. Smooth stout with lots of bitterness, chocolate, and alcohol. It does not hide the alcohol well and reminds me of foreign stouts. Volgon (2761) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 12, 2002
On tap GABF 02: Black color with a good head, Roasted aroma, medium body. Tasted died quickly at the end.

Thick black goodness with plenty of body. Full rounded chocolate with some fruity esters. Great looking foam with small creamy oatmeal bubbles. Gusler (2652) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 28, 2000
Good and stout as a stout should be. Malt and toasty nose and a decent finish.
