Poured from tap at Triple rock brewing a clear brown with a small off white head. Aroma was soft with wood, caramel, and barnyard funk(hay, straw). The flavor had a bit of hay, toast, soft caramel, some wood, and malt. The palate is not very sweet and mildly bitter. Just didn’t have a whole lot of flavor, rather bland or maybe just didn’t pair well with what I was eating. I’ll have to go back and try without food. elelwarren (140) - SF Bay area, California, USA - JAN 17, 2008
Draft from cask. Beautiful, lasting tan head on this bronze beer. Aroma bready, with floral tones as well. Buttery, smooth mouthfeel, with creamy & soft bubbles. Tasted quite different from Tree Frog Ale- a bit sharper, in fact. I enjoyed!bhensonb (15760) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 11, 2007

Floral & sweet at first taste, becoming less sweet, almost dry, towards the end. A bit hoppier than I had expected, with some spicy end notes. Thin mouth feel, medium carbonation, no head whatsoever. Strong alcohol flavors balanced by fruitiness in some swallows. I ate this w/ a decent chicken sandwich & slaw, which may have affected some of my experience...
On draft at the brewpub (7.6%). Deep roasted malt aroma with a touch of smoke. Very dark amber color with a minimal beige head. Medium body and very mild carbonation. Dark roasted flavor with no real sign of hop. The finish is a bit sweet, balanced only by the roasted aspect. Eventually some bitter does build up in the mouth. goldtwins (4319) - Nesconset, New York, USA - OCT 30, 2007

Another great nutty, stoney, scotch ale. That seems to be their specialty. Very good stuff.

Draft. Rich amber beer with an off-white head. Low malty aroma. Caramel, cocoa flavor with a bit of light citrus hop backing. Lots of malt, but hops linger. Medium-light bodied and easy drinking. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 18, 2005

Tap. Hazy brown ale with a faint nose of biutterscotch. Leafy tatse. sweet start with not much hops. Not well balanced. Lighter bodied lacking in something. (June 2004). MrDick (381) - San Francisco, California, USA - SEP 17, 2004
(strong beer month ’04 in san francisco) This english style ale pours copper colored. Very smooth for the high abv but lacking any distinguishable flavors. A bit sweet with some caramel.
