From Backlog @ Kulminator bottle from 1985 ! cucuma (89) - kontich, BELGIUM - FEB 8, 2011
Head: small, almost nothing
Colour: orangy amber
Smell: bit funky/sour, malts, aged
Taste: clearly old , but well balanced, and like every old beer it has something of a sherry/calvados taste, especially in the end , nice on !
i had a triple toison d’or from 1985 in the Kulminator.
It tasted like old beer, but it was very complex.
I tolded the owner from the brewery (charles leclef) that i tasted it and he said that it was not meant to drink it in this state but it was nice to see the evolution from a beer! Abio (1869) - BERMUDA - NOV 4, 2010
Bottle from 1985, aged for 25 years. Orange coloured. Small head, almost nothing. Smell is sour, wooden. Taste is a bit watery, low carbonation. Sour fruity taste, some earth-wood. Drinkeable, the aftertaste is the best at this beer, makes you wanna drink more. JorisPPattyn (9929) - Ursel, BELGIUM - JAN 26, 2006
Pretty aged bottle Clear pale amber; small but firm off-white head. Nutty nose, sweet, raisins, peaches and a little dash of portwine, very inviting. Nutty taste, biscuit and caramel, sultana’s; ends on a fruity note as of (old) citrus peel & sucade . In the MF, the oxidation has taken the most of the toll: thin, but alcoholic. Carbonation, however, is still 5/5. Very nicely aged, fruity, unfortunately a bit thinnish. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 23, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) It’s really hard to get to this beer. The huge, rocky head completely covers the fluid requiring a lot of the patience of the drinker. But this Triple appears nicely golden - when you finally get to see it. Very neutral nose and a prickly sensation in the mouth from lots of carbonation - too much. Slightly spicy and a touch of iron in the palate. Not the most thrilling Triple. 180294
