Draft at Barrelhouse 101 Ventura. Nose is spicy mango, citrus, and light oak. Clear amber orange with a medium off white head. Flavor is lightly bitter with some oaky vanilla. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - FEB 18, 2014
Not understanding the low rating for this brew. A quality Imperial IPA. Big on hops and totally refreshing. A bit of a long finish, but quality. Strykzone (7491) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2014
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. There was a LOT of sediment on the bottom of the glass that loosened after being rolled. The beer is, therefore, very hazy and is mid brown. A beige head that might go to one finger. Butterscotch in the aroma. Diacetyl? The first sip brought some big hops. Even bigger was the numbness in my throat from the bitterness. Some butterscotch is tasted, too. This is definitely an imperial IPA. Huge hops and equally huge malts. Oak is a little hard to find, in part because of the size of the other flavors. That off flavor is not really an unpleasant one but it tends to distract. Except for that this is a really good beer. hayduke (5579) - Eureka, California, USA - FEB 4, 2014
Shared with strykzone on Facebook chat. Pours amber orange with a small beige head. First thing the greets the nose is diacetyl. Full body. Good creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is floral, citrus, Some bitterness .The diacetyl. is for sure there but does not spoil the beer. Quite decent overall. ABUSEDGOAT (2793) - California, USA - OCT 27, 2013
Nearly clear amber, some floaties, fairly large head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is diacetyl, grapefruit, caramel, light oak. Rough buttery aroma dominates but the other flavors are present. Medium bodied, moderately sweet with more oak in the finish, moderate alcohol, lightly grainy.

Bottle. Aroma is not good, diacetyl is out of control. You can overwhelmingly smell butter. Flavor is a bit better, and if you try really really hard, you can subtly taste vanilla from the oak chips. Some citrus notes too. Finish is not what I would constitute as a DIPA. Where’s the hops...the bitterness? Just not a good beer. On a positive not, I like the design on the bottle. brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 23, 2013
On tap @ Malibu Sundowner. Clear orange pour with a white head. Sweet fruit aromas of pineapple, orange, and some grapefruit. Caramel and bread, too. The flavor is a bit sweet, but not bad. Caramel, pineapple, orange, and grapefruit notes. Some pine, watermelon, and sugar. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - AUG 5, 2013
22oz bottle. Rating #30. Hazy orange/brown color with a big off-white head. Juicy grapefruit aroma with a little pine. A little woody, more grapefruit and a little boozy, not bad. (2855) Dean1015 (9) - san francisco, California, USA - JUL 21, 2013 does not count
caramel, chocolate aromas, amber, hazy, minimal head, heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness, light body, creamy, soft carbonation, bitter, A very drinkable, sooth double ipa in my opinian. The cons are it lacks complexity in flavor, and ore corbonation needs to be added StefanSD (2451) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - JUL 8, 2013
650 ml bottle. Pours a orange-amber color with a medium off-white head that has decent retention. The aroma is sweet and bitter (mostly sweet) with resins, caramel and bubble gum. The flavor, like the aroma, is mostly sweet--I get cotton candy, caramel, bubble gum, barley, butter and piney bitter hops filling in the back and sides. The palate was full but slightly greasy with lively carbonation. Finished short and sweet. Overall: A bit too sweet for me.
