Trying this brewery for the first time at Brouwer’s. Hoping that a style I like is really going to do it for me. Very dark brown, not black color. Tight head leads to lots of lacing on side of glass. In aroma smoke is on the mild side of moderate. Its not sweet smoke, there is a mineral character getting in the way. Earthy malts. In the flavor the smoke is more moderate-moderate. The earthy malts really work well with the smoke. However, an overpowering malt bitterness really fucks with the end of the favor. I thinks that’s the mineral character in the nose. Reduce the mineral/ bitter malt and amp up smoke a bit. Otherwise enjoyable smoked porter despite the "imperial" part. AmEricanbrew (7080) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - FEB 6, 2015

Triplehorn. Black body with tan head. Dark chocolate, mild ash, dark roast malt aromas. Medium bodied. Sweet dark chocolate, mild ash, roasty flavors___too sweet for my taste---decent I suppose.
Draft - Roast malts, light toasted burnt notes and some cocoa. Jet black with a rich beige head. Roast malts and bitterness with a cocoa. Dark fruit and some acidity but none of the smoke promised.
