Triporteur From Hell is a dark beer brewed with hellish burned and roasted BOM malt. The beer reminds us of chocolate, caramel, recently brewed coffee and freshly baked bread. The wheat malt in the unfiltered beer can cause a slight cloudiness. The taste of Hell keeps evolving in the bottle.

Thick, stable dark creamcoloured head over deep-brown beer with a faint reddish sheen. Rather nutty nose, roasted bread(crust), leafy; melanoidins in force, resulting in roasted-sweet aromas. Roasted again, but sweetness receding in front of more leafy, earthy and even outright bitterish flavours. Very fine, fleeting sourish-lactic impression. Feels lively carbonated, sparkling. Medium bodied, certain gristslickness. Nice brown. Nothing spectacular, but one to order a second round of immediately - always a good sign.

F: big, light tanned, not long lasting. C: dark brown, hazy. A: roasted, malt, chocolate, toffee, dried fruits, coffee, cocoa, dates. T: malt, chocolate, cocoa, mocha, dried fruits, brown sugar, medium body, medium carbonation, straightforward and for me more like abbey dubbel but good, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Spar supermarket in Oostende.

Color negro, opaco, con reflejos rojizos y capa de espuma amarronada de dos dedos de grosor (no mucha retencin, aunque no llegue a desvanecerse del todo). Carbonatacin a tope (no tan presente en boca). Textura acuosa. Aroma a chocolate, como a galleta, malta tostada y caf. En boca hay chocolate por un tubo, pasas, frutos secos, y un final y postgusto a caf que mete miedo. Porter o Dubbel (o...) de nivel.

Poured into a chalice, this had an appearance of dark brown color. A fingers worth of off white foamy head snuck underneath at a nice pace. Sly rings of lace. The aroma spits out baked apple, vanilla sweetness, Belgian sugars with a sly Belgian spice underneath. Milk chocolate, a touch of coffee bean and some warming dark fruits with a crisp little dry woody edge flowing in neatly. The flavor yields initially to the sweet side of those previously mentioned aromas. Dry woodiness comes in with a touch of the coffee. Apples sweet bready aftertaste flows into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice balancing sweet feel sticking to my tongue nicely. Not cloying, almost but malty smooth. Overall, is this supposed to be a Dubbel? Thats what I say. I would have this again whatever its supposed to be.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Pours out a dark brown with small foamy beige head. Was hoping this would be better than the "From Heaven", but not so. Malty, roasty aroma close to porter. Taste also seems to mimic a porter, hints of chocolate, but a bit of Belgian yeast turns this back into Belgian territory. The more I taste it, this seems awfully close to a porter.

Bottled, 330ml from The Spar Supermarket, Ostend, West Flanders, Belgium. Tawny brown with off white head. There is a toffeed, sweetish caramel character to this from the start along with a candyd fruitiness. Smooth on the palate, easy drinking. Pretty reasonable if a trifle unexciting.

Bottle - slight aroma of dark malts, taste nondescript and bland. With a carbonated slightly bitter ending. Not much more to say. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy dark brown with a small, frothy beige head. The aroma contains caramel, chocolate, raosted malts, coffee, dark fruits and bread. It tastes medium sweet and light bitter. The finish is long and roasted. Oily texture and soft carbonation. Nice.
