Pint on tap. Thick black oil color with a nice dark tan head. Malty aroma. Sweet coffee taste. Goes down smooth for being a thick beer. Also nice lacing left on the glass.

Bottle. Nose has some nice smoking to it, and almost reminds you of a good steak. There is a bit of roasting in there, in both nose and taste. This is very drinkable, though not in the expected way.

Had from a bottle. It’s pretty good stuff, delivers on the malts and hint of coffee that I like in stouts.

On tap, black with thin tan head. Smoke to the nose which continues to the pallet along with some chocolate and coffee. Good beer worth having again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

tap - Pours very dark brown with a pleasant roasted coffee aroma. It’s sweet and roasted with mild bitterness, dark malt flavors, and a hint of that coffee. This full bodied, well balanced stout works extremely well. Try it.

Bottle: Pours black/purple with a mikshake dark tan head. Scent is chocolate powder, roast and a hint of smoke. Taste is creamy, chocolate malt..... Smooth with a nice coffee bitter...oily.... Really nice.

Good stout! It could use more depth of flavor(it would probably barrel-age great like the porter). Very drinkable; and yet another solid beer from my favorite brewer in Indianapolis. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I wasn’t expecting much from this but overall its pretty good! From the start, poured from a bottle, it has a very attractive smell like a marshmello that caught on fire in a campfire, nifty. Pur is a nice as any stout, big black and a handsome brownish head. Tase uis smooth and friendly, very good. I was expecting an impy stout wannah be but this is well reserved and civilized. Yes, quite interesting an fun. Overall nice beer drinking experience. Pleasantly surprised!

Sample at The Heorot. Pours black with a medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily. Short stringy lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Medium body with a roasty character and notes of coffee, malt and a bit of hops. The finish is malty up front with a lingering coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft. Poured black color with an average creamy brown head that was mostly lasting and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet roast coffee and toffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good beer.
