Our flagship beer, and a true example of the style, the Railsplitter India Pale Ale (IPA) is a fresh golden brew with noticeable citrus and floral aromas balanced on a nice malty backbone with a dry finish.

Pours a golden amber with a very thick foam head. Strong citrus hops aroma on a malt base. Clean hops taste on a light malt undertone. Bitter sharp grapefruit aftertaste isn’t my preference, but not unbearable.

Bottle from the East Side Big Red, Bloomington. Pretty deep orange pour, moderately cloudy, thin but creamy head. Nose was quite fragrant and floral, malt sweetness with pungent tropical fruit notes. Mouthfeel is a bit syrupy, notable slickness in the finish. Flavors are a bit one-dimensional: plenty of citrus, but only as a register of the overall sweet and pungent profile. Decent but nothing more than that.

A decent run of the mill IPA. Nothing great. Aroma was a muted mix of earthy caramel and hay. Pour was a dark gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was a very balanced mix of what the aromas were. The bitter hops came out more in the finish. Decent carbonation. Decent beer

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber color with a moderate off-white head. Nose is really light for me - I can detect some faint whiffs of floral hoppiness, but the smell certainly isn’t strong. Taste is actually too balanced for me - only a very slight bit of bitterness, and not a lot of substance. Meh.

Brownish amber color out of the bottle with a lasting small tan colored head. Light citrus hop nose. Caramel sweetness with some bready malts and a strong hop grapefruit/orange zest flavor. Easy drinking IPA, especially given the claimed ABV. Long dry hop pellet finish.

Bottle. Nice copper color and average lacing. Floral aroma, very bitter. Not much malt feel. Very good IPA and I would seek it out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is one of the milder IPAs I've tasted. A slight citrus and malty taste that pours with a large head. This beer gets smoother. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

from a bottle. good strong aromatic olfactory. Looks viscous, slightly darker than pale ale. Taste is usal ipa terribly bitter stuff. Looks like it has more co2 than it really has. Have yet to be truly impressed by this style.

Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. Resinous and floral aromas. Slightly sweet with a resinous hop flavor. Medium body with a high level of carbonation. Semi-dry at the finish.

Nephilium (1818) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Nice punch of citrus hops to start out. Pours a clear amber with just a ring of off white head, and yeast in the bottle. Very little malt noticeable in this beer, there’s a strong hop presence, leaving a lingering bitter finish. Not a bad IPA, and very drinkable.
