Draught at Olde City BrewPub: Aroma of malt, brown sugar, slight nuts, and dried leaves. Poured deep amber/brown in color with a small, creamy, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of nuts, malt, and slight toasting. Medium body. Slightly dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Nut and malt finish.

Draft at the Philly brewery. Pours a deep but clear brown with an off-white head. Aroma and flavor had some pretty nice malty bread-crust tones if you looked hard enough, but the beer was so over-carbonated that it mostly just reminded me of Alka-Seltzer. Not really enjoyable. Draft. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Malty fruit y apple tones, some bread y malt notes, light doughy yeast, and a sweet fruity caramel malt bill. Nice ale. PilsnerPeter (3050) - Flushing, New York, USA - SEP 22, 2009
Tap at the Philly location: Amber bronze pour with a lacing light tan head. Sweet doughy dark Munich malts- some maltose and wort character. Creamy body a bit sweet- some nondescript sweetness- a tad doughy without enough hop character. Not bad- just needs some more spiciness/bitterness. Sampler at the Philly pub. Malty and grainy aroma with spicy hop notes. Clear amber brown with small white head. Sweet caramel maltiness in flavor with a medium finish and light residual spicy finish. Nice dunkel.

deep brown pour with a large fluffy white head, aromas were sweet, carame and banana. i loved the flavor, a nice balance of caramel and citrusy hops, a very crisp mouthfeel and well balanced aftertaste. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 12, 2009
Tap at Philly location, super drinkable and quite good. Pours blackish brown with a tan head. Nose is sweet, malty and rich. Taste is sweet, malty, quite well balanced and rich, yummy american dunkle. HoppityHop (206) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 30, 2009
Wow, this one surprised me as there was (thankfully, for me) no roasty/toasty/smoky flavor or aroma. Instead, this tasted much like one of the finer examples of an "American Dark Lager" with some caramel sweetness, and light hopping. The coloring is dark and the aroma leans towards malty. Slighty bitter in the after, there was also something nutty and biscuity about this beer. I like it. bp (923) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 27, 2008
Draft in Philly: dark amber with a thin white head, aroma is malty, taste is a bit malty and slightly bitter as well, decent but not something I’d order again. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 23, 2008
