on tap in Princeton, took out a growler. Deep purple-ish brown in color with some red highlights at the bottom of the glass. Very nice nose- alot of dark fruit, molasses, light belgian yeast must, Taste is earthy with molasses, some cherry and raisin, belgian yeast and wood. Full bodied. I agree with Willblake that there was more hop bitterness in the finish than I am usually accustomed to, despite that this was still a really good offering. Probably one of the best American made quads I’ve had. willblake (2664) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - MAY 17, 2008
20080517 Tap at Princeton. Dark, deep, hazed, burgundy tinged brown color with sturdy beige head that lasts. Aroma is rich, vinous, woody, and with dark cherry notes. Hints of belgian yeastiness and distant acetic highlights. Flavor is oaky with vanilla, cherry skins, and a backbone of phenolic belgian yeast. Full, sticky, coating palate carries the sweetness well from front to back with maybe just a touch more finishing bitterness than I’d like where I’d prefer a tart vinous closing. All around nice stuff, I bought two growlers. jcwattsrugger (12550) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - APR 10, 2008
@Philly-on tap-pours a dissipating tan head that fades to a ring with reddish/brown color. Aroma is wood, dark malt-candy sugar, dark fruit, faint spice, some barnyard/yeast. Taste is wood, dark malt-candy sugar, dark fruit, faint spice, some barnyard/yeast. A sweetness carries from start to finish. Easy. keepersj12 (3137) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - MAR 26, 2008

Sample at PCBF 08. Pours a brownish amber with a medium off white head. Aroma of dark fruits, mostly raisins, Belgian yeast esters, fruity, malty sweetness and some nuts. Flavor was much of the same. I liked this one a lot...a little sweet but one of the hits of the fest. JB175 (1665) - Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 28, 2008
Draft at Triumph Philly - Plum color (had to tell as its a bit dark) with a one inch white head. Gentle aroma of raisin, sugar, and yeast. Flavor is of sweet raisin/date/brown sugar with a tad bit of tartness and some yeast. Slight hint of cherries with some light hop flavor. Nice mouthfeel - I’m guessing this is a Quad but entered it as a BSA since I have no other info than the name and that its a stronger ABV beer.
