COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It tastes like a glassful of pumpkin pie, and no wonder! Loads of pumpkin, along with our own blend of spices, give this orange-colored ale the festive flavor that’s perfect for the season.

Another pretty typical, pretty average to good beer. Has nothing to deter a normal drinker from calling it a good pumpkin beer but doesn’t stand up to the titans of the style at all.

On draft at the brewpub in Princeton. Pours a clear copper with an ecru head. Aromas of pumpkin pie spices. Flavors of cinnamon and clove, but not overbearing.

Princeton. I thought the flavor was a little too heavy on the spices with not enough pumpkin, but I keep comparing all the Pumpkin Ales I try to Dogfish Head’s Punkin Ale, so I guess it’s sort of unfair. Very drinkable, added flavors aren’t overpowering, just maybe not as well rounded as I’d prefer my beer.

on tap-pours a creamy tan head with some lacing with deep red color. Aroma is nutmeg, faint pumpkin. Taste is medium malt, nutmeg, faint pumpkin. Looks full body, taste is medium/light body. Good carbonation.

Dogbrick (13027) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 27, 2007
Sample at the Princeton location: Pours a clear reddish-orange color with a compact light beige head that burns off quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of pumpkin, malt and nutmeg. Light-bodied with mild pumpkin and cinnamon flavors, along with other spices in the background. The finish remains pumpkin-y with a short herbal aftertaste. Overall the beer is okay, albeit one-dimensional.

richlikebeer (838) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 13, 2009
poured a golded amber, lots of pumpkin and spices, some cinnamon, some clove. flavor didnt deliver the amount of pumpkin that the aroma advertised...spices kind of dominated too much. not a bad pumpkin, but not a great one either.

egajdzis (6590) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 18, 2009
Hazy orange brown with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel, and light citrus. Taste of nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, pine, and pumpkin.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy off-white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, cloves, and earthy hops, dates, cookie and biscuit malt. Flavor is malt and spices with light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

PilsnerPeter (3046) - Flushing, New York, USA - SEP 22, 2009
Tap at the Philly location: Hazy copper orange with an off white film of head. Sweet aroma- canned pumpkin, maltose and cinnamon- not very spicy- not much depth. Creamy body with a sweet flavor- maltose, brown sugar, cinnamon, canned pumpkin- slightly under attenuated, or just needs more spices.
