Ale Brewed With Mango. Each Spring, Hop Growers dust off their pruning shears and trim the first shoots, bolstering the bines for a rich growing season. First Cut - a mouthfeel of silky Simcoe and a touch of mango - is a nod to this ritual, without which the world would be a less happy place.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head, nice lacing and lively carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Herbal hops, bready malt and tropical fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and somewhat sour. I would not spent money on this brew.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2018 3/27/18 With A while watching Dexter season 6 after she got back from work. Hazy deep orange with a sizeable fluffy head that leaves quickly. Nose is mostly earthy/herbal hops. Faint tropical fruit. Smells nice but not super strong. Taste follows with herbal hops and tropical fruit. The mango is definitely present. Very little bitterness. Somewhat sour from the fruit. Palate is medium-light with little carbonation. Sour fruity hops linger. Overall a fun IPA that’s easy drinking and tasty. Floral and fruity but it would benefit from some extra carbonation/crispness.

Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Clear orange-gold color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of citrus, hops and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of grapefruit, mild hops and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a peach and citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.
