COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Squeeze those hops for all they’re worth and prepare to pucker up: Tröegs’ newest single batch brew, Nugget Nectar Ale, will take hopheads to nirvana with a heady collection of Nugget, Warrior and Tomahawk hops. Starting with the same base ingredients of our flagship HopBack Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar intensifies the malt and hop flavors to create an explosive hop experience.

While the brewery considers this an "Imperial Amber Ale" RateBeer considers it an IPA due to the hopping rate. There is no need to send any other corrections on the style.

What an intense IPA this is! My neighbor in Harrisburg has made a beautifully bitter IPA that wakes the taste buds up and smacks them in the face. Grassy citrus aroma with a bitter hop taste make this beer explode with flavor. Not too overbearing on the hops or the malt which comes out in the end. This stands up to any IPA I have tasted.

Nice hoppy smell. Pours copper with small offwhite head. Nice sweet, almost citrus taste. Decent hop kick, but with nicely balanced malt. Hides alcohol well. Medium bodied. Good stuff.

Pours a light orange. Smells fantastic, by smell alone I thought I was in for a two hearted, but I was wrong. The taste at first is almost sweet, but not yet floral. Then the hops really kick it, straight nectar style, then you get another taste of sweet, maybe citrus???

Pours orangy/amber with a nice orangy/tan creamy head. Powerful piney grapefruit hoppy aroma, with a big semi-sweet malt presence. Flavor is a bit less bitter than expected, but still plennty of hops, and very nice balance with the lightly sweet roasty caramel malts. Palate is medium, slightly oily, light bitterness, and dry. Great balance, and super easy drinking. Best troegs I’ve had yet, damn good.

Courtesy boboski. Clear copper and 1cm frothy, off white cap. Huge hops- floral, citrusy, piney, resinous, and a bit earthy. Fresh grains and lightly toasted grains. Easy drinking, balanced, medium body. Very good.

Poured an amber color with small head great lacing throughout. Aroma was of pine and citrus hops. Flavor was caramel and the citrus and pine hops. Good balance and not to sweet. Good IPA it was stronger then i thought it was going to be.

Poured from 12oz bottle into my Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a clear golden amber. Slight head that quickly recedes back into the beer. Smell is heavenly hops. Not a barrage of hops, but a good hop presence in the nose. Taste is bittery hops. Some nice, juicy, citrusy hops. Not overly bitter or tongue thrashing. This is a very toned down Dreadnaught. It’s quite good, but just isn’t the powerhouse that I was expecting. The mouthfeel is crisp and medium bodied. This does come across as something that would be highly sessionable. It being more reserved makes it much easier for more than one of these to go down.
