Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, hops, and coffee. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of alcohol and grapefruit, leading to a dry roasted end with notes of oatmeal lingering around. The body is a bit on the thin side inspite of the 6.8% ABV and the oatmeal. joergen (28106) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2007
Clear red brown coloured with a beige head.
Light roasted aroma of overriped fruits and hops.
Roasted flavour of coffee, chocolate, liquorice and hops. omhper (25108) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 20, 2002
Near black with rich beige head. Dry nose with obvious flavour from the oat. Sweet and bitter finish. Very solid stout. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2007
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, dark brown with a reddish hue and a delicious, creamy, beige head leaving laces. Aroma of lightly burned malt. The body is medium with very dry, burned malty notes and a touch of coffee. Ends dry also. Courtesy of xproudfoot. 120207 Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 23, 2002
Big stout flavour, very even handed though. Nutty notes, hint of fruit, and rich malt and roast.

Dark black pour with a tan head. Rich, creamy stout. Regular stouts that aren’t imperial don’t get much better than this. Rated 5/13/04 argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 8, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2005 (1/17/05) Small brown head atop red-tinged black body. Aroma is not very strong, coffee, chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, roasty, some chocolate. Fairly smooth medium body. Definitely not as good as in past years. (6/3/6/4/12).
(2/8/02) Nice dark good-headed roasted-malty hint-of-coffee smooth well-rounded stout. (7/4/8/4/15). Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 18, 2005
Acquired via trade. This brew is a nearly opaque brown/black with a thin light tan head. Thin, sticky lacing. The aroma packs a bit of a punch, with roasted malt, coffee and some chocolate. Medium-bodied and smooth with a nice bittersweet chocolate and coffee flavor. Some malt and hops too. The finish is lightly hoppy with a small bitter coffee aftertaste. This is one of the more flavorful Oatmeal Stouts I have had. Well done! hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 23, 2004
On tap at the Lehigh Valley Brew Fest ’04. Poured a dark brown color with an off white head. Aroma and tastes of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Typical sweet stout - not bad nor undrinkable… Sammy (12197) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2004
Nice oatmeal stout. Perhaps not as excellent as Samuel Smith's, but different mostly in the bitter US oats. Rich like a bit of cocoa and coffee and dark and creamy. Hops on top added to experience
