Really like it - tough on the mouth but has the bitterness I like in an IPA. Wouldn't group it with my favorites but would be more than happy to have again

Bottle. Infant believe I haven’t tried this yet. I pop the cap and as I pour, I’m already happy. Big citrus aromas of grapefruit and pear strike first with maybe a little resiny edginess to them. Body is a clear gold And supports a thick head. Flavor is a hop explosion with a biscuit and pear malt presence to hold it together. Very nice balance. Great beer. Hopefully I can find this by the case somewhere. rangerred (989) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - AUG 30, 2012
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a half finger white head. Excellent head retention and lacing on the sides of the glass.
Aroma has tons of citrus from pineapple, grapefruit, to a little bit of lemon. Some bready malt is detectable as well. Really an amazing aroma on this one.
The flavor has some of the citrus that was present in the smell although not nearly on the same level. A quick shot of citrus up front but it fades rather quickly. Bitterness is not very high which kind of surprised me. Alcohol becomes noticeable towards the finish although it doesn’t really detract from the flavor.
Overall, a really good beer that dances between an IPA and an IIPA. One that is more of a sipper but is quite enjoyable. jaymtee (36) - Georgia, USA - AUG 29, 2012
Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tiny hotel glass. Nice head with good lacing. Great bitter hops up front. Golden color. Hops bitterness lasts well with some make to back it up. A nice imperial IPA. Bricks (1132) - Delaware, USA - AUG 29, 2012
aroma of orange. Fierce head but not much carbonation to speak of. Bitter but ful of citrus. Not ultra complex. Pretty good

Pours a bright gold with a thick head that retains. Aroma is a blast of hops with a nice malt presence. Taste follows, bitter upfront and finishes with malt, ends balanced. Real solid ipa

Great aroma, a sweet floral bitter aroma. Good bitterness. This is one of my favorite IPAs. I usually smuggle this back from business trips. XaenDovet (1282) - British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 27, 2012
Glass at rattle n hum. Crystal clear yellow gold. Big fruit-forward hoppy aroma. Holy shit. The aroma is great. I wish my farts later would smell like only this beer. The taste, doesn't hold up to the aroma at all. While balanced with toffee and grapefruit, complimented by a medium dry finish, it just doesn't compare to the aroma you get. Nice citrus aroma with a nice carmel malt backbone. Average regular IPA with a great aroma is the best way I can really describe this one. ThisWangsChung (836) - Leonardtown, Maryland, USA - AUG 25, 2012
12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.
A: Pours a light golden color with perfect clarity, almost like a pilsner. The head is a two finger white color with decent retention, a moderately thick texture, and nice lacing clumps.
S: Very hoppy, but with a citric presence, dominated by mango, grapefruit, pineapple, and guava. I can definitely smell the Citra in this one. The malt backbone comes through enough - no more, no less. Really a great smelling IPA.
T: Tons of tropical fruits! The opening flavor does nothing to hide the mango assault on the tongue, while the finish does an excellent job of keeping the potential hop bitterness in check. As in the aroma, there’s ’enough’ of a malt backbone to balance/showcase the citric hops without making it seem like just another malty east coast IPA. It’s not super complex, but who cares?! I’d put this up there with Two Hearted and Union Jack - it’s really a fantastic IPA, especially since its fresh.
M: Light and spritzy, with a nice lingering citric hop resin. Only the slightest hint of a syrupy texture holds things back faintly - if at all, it’s so amazingly drinkable overall it isn’t an issue, really.
O: Wowee. Call it an east coast bias, a fresh bottle, or what have you, but this is one my favorite IPAs on the market right now. I could honestly see myself drinking 3-4 bottles in a session, acid reflux, hellish buzz, and painful hangover be damned.
As good as it is from the bottle, this would be orgasmic on tap. BUT MAKE SURE IT’S FRESH! I had an old bottle of this (from the original Fall 2011 batch) and hated it.
