3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2012 Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a golden-amber color with a medium sized creamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was strong pine resin and catbox. The flavor was very bitter pine, resin, catbox and a strong tangy malt presence. The finish was long and tangy with lingering resin and catbox. Moderately full bodied. Not my style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks man! Pours a solid clear orangish yellow with a small white head. Aroma of strong citrus hops, mild cookie dough malt backing. I also get nice floral, grass and herbal hop notes in the nose. Flavor is dry, very bitter. Lot of bitter tangerine rind and grapefruit hops. Some herbal and floral notes as well. Balanced somewhat by bread dough and cookie malts. Medium bodied, well carbonated. This is pretty great. Wonderful DIPA.

Bottle pours a clear golden with a thin white top. Scent is pine fading to citrus and malt. Taste is piney and sweet malt with a citrus finish. Good stuff

Draft. Bronze golden color. Nice lacing on side of glass. Full body. Lots of flavour. Syrupy. Not overly hoppy. Well balanced. Good beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
6 pack. This seems more like a regular ipa to me than an imperial. thought the abv level just suggest it. The color is the same foggy yellow shown on the label. Aroma is piney grapefruit joy. The taste a medium bitter. Even carbonation palate. Worthy of the hype. another full on solid that I love from troegs

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear golden color with a decent amount of white head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Body is medium. Tastes very clean and fresh -- hoppy, mainly citrus, with a lingering bitter finish. A decent IPA (not sure why this is in the DIPA category) but not in the same league as the better DIPAs.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle. Aroma of hop, ocean, soap, citrus. Looks just like an IPA should - gold/amber with a lasting white head. Hop flavors are citrus, floral and pine. Malt is more roasted than sweet. Dry, refreshing feel with just the right amount of carbonation. Very drinkable for an imperial IPA. Another impressive brew from Troegs.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear gold with a minimal white head. Smells of resin, spruce, citrus. Taste is super-bitter, very hoppy indeed. A bit too much for me, but definitely well represented of the style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer pours a clear sparkly yellow-gold color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppy with notes of citrus and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character and flavors of grapefruit and sweet malt. The finish is hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is loaded with pine and citrus hops and plenty of caramel malt. The appearance is golden with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma with an astringent bitterness. The palate is a tad thin. Overall a good example of the style.
