12 oz bottle purchased from Capones. Pours a slightly thin bodied orange with an average size quickly dissipating white bubbly head. Aroma has lots going on with lots of sugar, molasses, bread, alcohol, mint and grains. Full bodied with average carbonation and only slight alcohol warming from the 10.2%. Flavor of pepper, bread, alcohol and slight balck licorice. A pleasant abbey and I might have bumped the score up slightly since this is a style I have really been enjoying lately. msiano (36) - Jackson, New Jersey, USA - JUN 30, 2008
i would of scratched this beer altogether but it was free. i wasn’t all that impressed with the flavor . There was a slight hint of orange. off white head with a golden- orange color. jehoey (765) - Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 28, 2008
An interesting brew... pours golden and slightly cloudy, but lack head retention. aroma is rootbeer, pepper, and back notes of citrus. flavor is intriging. more rootbeer with with spices. I guess that’s about it actually. I think its more enjoyable than the score recommends though. medium bodied. overall its pretty good. pineypower (3346) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - JUN 28, 2008
Thanks to Miver for this one. Pours out a light hazzy copper color, little darker than I’d expect a tripel. Atoma of interesting sweet fruits, banana, light cherry and some yeast. Taste is complex, at first a bit boozy, then a bit sweet, candi sugar, sweet banana, spice and some lingering honey....also some yeast. kmweaver (3208) - Petaluma, California, USA - JUN 21, 2008
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy, dull-orange color thin off-white head with patchy lacing. Messy, sticky-sweet aroma: chewy bananas, Belgian sugars, basic yeast and some definite licorice in the aroma solid, if a bit sweet overall. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: sweet, sticky Belgian sugars, licorice, and plenty of oily fruitiness (predominantly bananas) an underattenuated, lightly carbonated, generous beer overall not a lot of alcohol showing through, just a touch of warmth very sweet throughout. Medium finish: Belgian sugar, bananas, and that lingering licorice note (which actually does a fair amount of work for making this an interesting enough beer).

Draft @ Troegs. Medium dark orange colored body, cloudy. Nose of over-ripened oranges and peaches, not what I would call fruity, but more like old, rotting, oxidized citrus, combined with a sort of honey malt nose and the candy sugar, it’s a bit of a mess aroma-wise but not terrible. Flavor is medium sweet candy sugar and lavender honey, some light spices (presumably from the yeast), and the texture is moderately thick, oil and vinous. Not bad overall. A very average tripel. Aroma was pepper, spices and yeast. Pour was a hazy murky orange with no head or bubbles. Taste was strong, hot and peppery. Spices, corriander and yeast are full force with orange peel and citrus in the aftertaste. Thick mouthfeel. Biggest complaint of this beer is that it doesn’t combine all these flavors coherently. This is too all over the place. zathrus13 (1776) - Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA - JUN 13, 2008
Pours hazy gold, with a white head, although a very small one. Aroma is licorice, with some fruit and yeast. Flavor is licorice, spices, and fruit. Kind of a flat palate. This is unique, but seems to be missing something. Maybe aging will help. adrian910ss (2594) - Doylestown, PA, USA - JUN 11, 2008
Pours a slightly hazy light orange copper with almost no head. Aroma of black licorice, cotton candy, candied malts and anise. Taste of sweet candied malt, licorice, cotton candy and belgian spices. Has a slight gingery/peppery aftertaste. Not bad at all. grandet (501) - Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 10, 2008
Bottle from capones. Light brown in color with a small white head that didnt last long. Aroma of spices and some clove. Taste was quite disappointing, nothing like a triple at all, except for the alcohol burn on the way down. Not very good for the style they were trying to make.
