Pours opaque sable with a nice tan head. Aroma presents roast malt, coffee and molasses notes plus a hint of chocolate. Flavor begins with roast malt and charred wood, and adds coffee and chocolate plus a hint of molasses. Mouthfeel is firm and fizzy. Give it a scratch. Sampled on draft at Fat Heads, the Pittsburgh location this beer poured a black color with a small dark tan head that faded quickly and left good lacing. The aroma was malty anise, floral hops and chocolate. The flavor was sweet, malty and toasty with strong anise, moderate floral and perfumey hops, chocolate, more anise, malted milk and a hint of tropical fruits. Long malty finish of anise, chocolate and perfume. Full bodied and smooth. Quite nice. DoublEE (782) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - SEP 19, 2013
Starts off with plenty of dark roasted malt slowly giving way to hints of chocolate and brown sugar sweetness, light toasted coconut and some lactose sugar. Finish is roasty with a touch of sweetness, lingering on the palate long after the finish. I was expecting a bit more coconut from this one. jmikolich (1477) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - SEP 3, 2013
Tap at Fat Heads, Nose is a little misleading as I was getting faint pineapple and coconut, then taste was strangely hot in the first sip lots of burn for >8% the finish was what made the beer though, a wonderful mix of coconut milk and savory sweetness with some bright hints of fruits and even chocolate. no head on 12oz snifter, served nicely cold. 12 oz snifter at Fat Heads 9/1/13. Big chocolatey fruity scent. Low head on a full pour, black body. Thick syrupy feel. Yum. Chocolate fronted taste dark cocoa nibs, coffee bitter note, and a subtle fruity fruit punch finish.

On tap. Pours a dark brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, light roasted coconut, toffee, raisin, dark fruit. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, dark fruits, toffee. Sweet finish, with light fruits. Very sweet, heavy palate. I don’t get the individual flavors of chocolate, brown sugar, lactose, and coconut just a generalized sweetness. A little disappointing. Probably more of an imperial stout than a sweet stout.

This one poured a darker brown color with a beige head. Aroma was medium roast, light chocolateand light coconut. Flavor was a good roasty stout but not much stands out including the coconut. orangesol (987) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 23, 2013
Served on-tap at the brewery.
A - Pours pitch black with a nice one finger tall khaki colored head leaving small trails of lace down part of the glass.
S - Smells of dark roasted malt, milk chocolate, dulled toasted coconut, dark brown sugar and a touch of booze. A little slow to develop, I never really got a ton of coconut, but all in all a pretty nice nose.
T - Starts off with plenty of dark roasted malt slowly giving way to hints of chocolate and brown sugar sweetness, light toasted coconut and some lactose sugar. Finish is roasty with a touch of sweetness, lingering on the palate long after the finish. I was expecting a bit more coconut from this one.
M - Heavy body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, roasty feel that goes a little watery toward the end of the glass.
O - A nice attempt at a coconut stout. Nowhere near the best I have had but still a decent enough offering. Glad I got to try it while it lasted.
