COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Earlier this year, we introduced an innovative device that would usher in a new era of dry-hopping technology at Tröegs Brewery -- the HopCyclone. This hopped-up Harvest Ale (which shares its namesake with the aforementioned device) begins with plenty of Columbus and Crystal hops for bittering. We then further intensify the hop aroma by adding an abundance of whole flower Mt. Hood hops to our hopback vessel. Finally, we apply a healthy dose of Galaxy and Motueka hops directly to the HopCyclone during dry-hopping to push this beer over the edge. The result is an aggressive IPA-style Harvest Ale with plenty of lip-smacking, juicy hop goodness and a tinge of dry spiciness due to the addition of a small percentage of rye malt. Experience a hop gust of epic proportions with Scratch #111 - HopCyclone Harvest Ale!

12oz bottle pours with a deep gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma has a mix of booze, resiny pine hops and a nice degree of malt sweetened citrus hops. This is a thick yummy aroma that doesn’t mess around. The taste bashes you with thick citrus hop flavor and malts and a fruity slightly bitter peach like note. It gets nice and resiny with pine hops to midway with a touch of booze around the edges. Really nice rich full hoppy goodness here. This doesn’t mince words, try it.

Growler at WF Bills. Poured clearish orange with light head and lace. Aroma is a bit rusty with citrus, bubblegum and galaxy coming through. Taste is the same with grass and piney hops rounding it out. Light to medium body. Bitter hoppy finish. Decent, but not great.

12oz bottle from my bday lunch at Capones. Poured a good looking thicker body of glowing orange underneath an average frothy off white head. Aroma of fresh citrus, earth, marmalade topped toast, lemons. Big fuller body with strong carbonation and a lingering bitter hop finish with a touch of spicyness. Flavor is similar to the aroma with citrus rinds, earth, spice, grapefruit and orange, dry toast, grain husks. This beer drinks pretty big for only 6.8%, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
