Bottle on 17th July 2017, gift from a friend. Pours virtually black with a strongly yellowed shallow head of foam and virtually no lacing. Roasty aroma with bitter chocolate. Rich roasty malts in-mouth with dark chocolate. A touch of plum and raisin fruitiness, which shapes a finish of nutty chocolate. Full bodied with an engaging texture. A gorgeous chocolate stout. jgb9348 (6511) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2017
Rich deep brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall head that’s a nice brown colour. Aroma of chocolate (Surprise!), rich grain, alcohol, some caramelised sugars and a dose of coffee. Medium-bodied; Rich caramel, coffee and chocolate notes throughout with a roasty malt profile and some doses of metal and cream - very nice and rich throughout. Aftertaste is almost entirely roasty with coffee then chocolate coming through, but the malt and a touch of bitterness remains along with a lot of sugars - mainly from milk chocolate, but in a good way. Overall, a very well-balanced beer with a great chocolate and roast profile, but also showing a rounded quality and a sweetness that correctly balances the bitter, while also showing the faintest glimmer of alcohol. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington (20th Street Location), Virginia on 22-February-2017 for US$2,25 sampled at home in Washington a few blocks away on 07-May-2017. ginotarugo (70) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 13, 2017
Don’t really care for chocolate tasting beers. This is average at best. Much prefer Troegenator. matty (448) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2017
12 oz. bottle. Pours a black color with a thin, tan cap of foam that lingers the entire glass. Aroma is mostly chocolate with some sweetness and a bit of hops. Full bodied, the flavor consists of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and a bit of sweet malt. The finish is a little bitter with more of the coffee lingering. Great stout! Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of rugged tan foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Nice speckled to spider web lace streams along the glass nicely.

The aroma brings in a nice blend of roasted coffee to milk chocolate. Some lactose with a touch of marshmallow and some light vanilla slide in nicely.
The flavor brings in the sweet to the roast nice and balanced. Semi-sticky yet roasty and sweet sort of aftertaste with some milk chocolate. Sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Mild carbonation. Normal sticky sweet qualities of a sweet stout. ABV felt right.
Overall, very nicely done milk/sweet stout. Great for a late winter’s night.
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle of this continuing series. It pours near black with a foamy, lasting tan head. Vibrant cocoa and roasted chocolate malt character on the nose with a low to no hop profile. Medium, smooth body with a sort of astringency on the senses. The taste is sweet and chocolate like with a mild to moderate bitterness that kicks in on the backside. tfontana (1148) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 15, 2017
Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from One Stop Market. Appearance is almost opaque black--very dark brown with red tint--decent sparkle at the sides of the glass with visible floaties, finger width foamy light brown head with fair retention and fair leggy lacing. Aroma is roasted malts with chocolate. Taste is strong chocolate but not too sweet. Palate is full bodied with creamy, silky smooth texture, average carbonation and dry, crisp finish as taste. Overall, the aroma and taste are pretty straightforward chocolate but the creamy palate really shines and shapes the entire experience. Not complex but very enjoyable if looking for a chocolate stout. Terminus (3721) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 15, 2017

Pours pitch black with a small fizzy tan head and sparse lacing. Decent looking brew. Nose is char, chocolate, slightly dusty, and very bold. Flavors show the slightly sour char and chocolate notes, a hint of rasin and some bold roasted notes. Finsih is somewhat short with lingering burnt notes a little chalky as well. Body is medium with a hint of oiliness to it. Solid stout!
12oz bottle from Kroger in Grandview: dark brown pour with amber tint and light tan head. aroma is mostly chocolate. tastes are only moderately sweet (thankfully), cocoa, dark malts. clean bittersweet finish. nice enough. DocLock (11103) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 12, 2017
