Sampled at the Hawai’i Admission Day tasting. Pours hazy copper with off-white head. The aroma is melon, a slight vegetal hint, and some sweetish malt. The flavor is melon and some sugar. There is an unpleasant vegetal deal in the finish. Meh. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - AUG 16, 2010
Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is earthy hops, dirt and some bready malt. The flavor is citrus hops, dirt and earthy hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Decent, but not as good as some of the other Scratch beers I have tried. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 15, 2010

I rated it low in everything but overall. I know, it’s not pretty, it’s not exciting, but it’s good. Don’t ask me to explain. mar (5406) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 10, 2010

Lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of honey, toasted malts, dough, citrus fruits, and light alcohol. Taste of toasted malts, toffee, citrus fruits, some honey, bread, and light alcohol as well. phaleslu (10097) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 5, 2010
12 oz. bottle as a trade bonus from dkachur- thanks again, Dan! Pours a cloudy orange-amber with an initially large off-white head that turns into a chunky, uneven cap on the beer which leaves a little sloppy lacing. Aroma of orange citrus, bready Bavarian malts, toasted grains, yeast, spices, and grass. Flavor of sweet malts, toasted grains, pepper, yeast, spices, orange citrus, medicinal notes, and alcohol. Light-medium bodied, with sharp carbonation and a spicy mouthfeel. Finishes dry. Very unusual, and I wouldn’t even know how to begin categorizing it. Uneven but intriguing. kkearn (1165) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 4, 2010
Bottle from Capones. Pours medium amber, topped with a medium sized off white head. Bready aroma, with notes of white pepper, grass, coriander, and yeast. Flavor begins with some orange, grass, toasted malt, honey, and fruit, notably peach and tangerine. finish is a bit bitter, with citrus and spice. Medium body, very drinkable.
