My first scratch beer...I don’t sense anything special here. A real nice pour though...nice medium gold melding into amber coloring with a two thick finger head which held for a while before dissipating and leaving a nice thin lace on top. Interesting light grassy fresh aroma. I’m not any type of expert on this style, but mouthfeel has a bit of sticking around without being bad tendency. Just a pretty even, empty flavor to me. A mild hop and malt evenness that tends to emptiness for me. This drinks fine, but not sure of a reason to drink it over and over again. djaquay (138) - Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2010
My first Scratch, from a bottle. Full head, light lace, lively carbonation, cloudy orange in appearance, light citrus aroma, medium sweet and light sour flavor, somewhat sticky texture, long smooth finish. KornDogg (570) - Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2010
On Tap at Troegs. Sweet malty aroma. Amber brown body with medium dissipating head. Flavor is sweet and malty with floral hints, little breadiness... smooth honey finish... not as malty as I expected

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of fruitiness, grains, toasty, and floral. Tastes of the same fruitiness, honey sweetness, and some floral.

6-pack from the brewery courtesy of Eileen. One of the better scratch’s I’ve had, and an overlooked style IMO. Flavorful, well balanced and seriously smooth... I would snap up a case of this if I could. patrickfannon (1242) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2010
Bottle. 12 oz. Split with Vin. Pours a slight hay yellow-orange with an off-white head. Aroma of apples, tart cherry, hops, figs, sour wort, honey, and sweet malts. Medium bodied with a tangy, slightly sour palate. Finishes clean and smooth, with a touch of tart. Good bock brew from Troegs. Nejhleader (1574) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2010
has a bit of a sweet malt aroma, taste is a bit of spice well blended with some citrus hops. bit of a bitter aftertaste. Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 25, 2010
From bottle at Pints for Pets. Beany hoppy nose, light grain. Bitter herbal nose. Orange amber clear with foamy white lacing head. Medium body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts with light floral hops, mild sweet malt. Pale ale with light herbal grassy hops, bitter finish with hoppy after. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2010
This poured a clear yellow to orange color with a white head. Aroma was toasted malt and grassy hops. Flavor was much the same, a little sweet, lightly toasted and mild german hops. Just not my style.
