Bottle. 12 oz. Split with James and Streets. Pours a thin, watery yellow with a moderately puffy, sudsy white head. Aroma of hay, wheat, grass, slight yeast, and a bit of funk. Thin bodied with a loose, slightly tart palate. Finishes without much noise. Average. deyholla (11496) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 29, 2010
Bottle shared by Shane, thanks! Poured a hazy amber with a thick white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had a nice spice note with backing grain and just a bit of citrus and floral coming through. The floral note came out more on the tongue as well as the spice with a light grain backbone. 12oz. Bottle: Complex aroma of grain, orange, elderflower, slight coriander, hops, herbs, slight pepper, and a hint of yeast. Poured amber/brown in color with a huge, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, grain, herbs, yeast, coriander, and hops. Medium body. Slick, slightly tingly texture. Average carbonation. Malt, yeast, and herb finish. A lot more complexity in the aroma than in the flavor. adrian910ss (2572) - Doylestown, PA, USA - SEP 24, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy golden honey amber with a large sized foamy cream colored head. Aroma of mild peppery notes, cloves, light banana and bubble gum. Taste of watery cloves, banana, bubble gum, peppery notes and yeast. DocLock (10652) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2010
Bottle from PUB’N. Pours turbid deep copper with 3 finger, loud as my wife head. Nose is a nice funky hoppy malty medley, with flavors of floral spice, malt, honey, orange, funky earthy notes, and hops. Very complex, very smooth, hefty on the palate, and a great saison, which I predict will be the next year round offering from Troeg’s. My name for this is: Troeg’s Honeybush Hopback. On the label, show a swarm of bees flying into an azalea with a blonde chick drippig honey off her chest in the margin.. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! (and beer mail me for my royalty check). Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 21, 2010
The aroma is sweet with vanilla and honey, and thick with some floral notes. The appearance is dark banana amber with a huge foamy and creamy head. The flavor is awesome starting sweet, then a bit of funk and the Dupont yeast, then back to a sharper wild flavor of mild sweetness. So much respect for this beer after it warms up and you sense the connections to greatness, like the elderberries in the Zwanze on top of the Dupont yeast. hopdog (12341) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 17, 2010
On tap at the Troegs tasting room. Poured a medium to deep and cloudy golden color with a small sized head. Aromas of spices, yeastiness, and some fruitiness. Tastes of spices, citrus, floral, and lighter fruitiness.
