4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy gold color with a small white head that lingers throughout the glass. Minimal lacing. Aroma is mainly a resiny pine with some citrus fruits in the background. Medium bodied, the taste is a nice balance of the hops and malt. It seems as though there is more of the citrus in the taste rather than the pine notes. Finish is slightly dry. Good Scratch.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle served into my Duvel tulip.
A - A hazy copper orange color with a small white head offering a moderate amount of lacing down the glass. Good carbonation with small bubbles rising from the bottom.
S - Huge smell of piney, resiny, juicy, hops. Hints of grapefruit, lemon, and other citrus fruits. Beneath the hops lies a hint of some sweet malt and a light punch of the alcohol that hides in the background. The citra hop is fast becoming one of my favorites.
T - Big hop presence up front thanks to the huge amount of hops but they did a good job keeping it balanced with the sweet flavors from the malt and honey additions. Flavors are just like the smell with hints of grapefruit, lemon, and other citrus fruits. The alcohol is ever present and adds a warming flavor on every sip.
M - A well balanced beer all around. Quite smooth with a sticky sweet finish that lingers on the pallet for some time.
D - I have had quite a few of these now and, while being a very tasty beer, the high ABV brings this ones drinkability down a notch.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
In short: A super clean IPA with a grassy and refreshing tropical fruits character. Excellent
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed not fresh enough a little more than 6 months after the beer release. Bottle from a BA buddy, thanks a lot Heath
The look: A small white head over an almost clear golden-blonde body with many very small particles.
In long: The hoppy nose has plenty tropical and exotic fruits but also a lot of freshly cut grass. I read here that this is a Citra fresh hop IPA. That seems to make it more grassy than normal (non fresh-hop) Citra IPA and also does not have the cat urine I often get from normal Citra IPAs. Crisp malt backbone that is like dried bakery white bread and crackers. This is followed by a truckload of tropical fruits hops and freshly cut grass. A bit reminiscent of the excellent Town Hall Fresh Hop Ale 2010 (also a fresh hop Citra IPA) and almost as excellent. Citra really seems to make awesome Fresh Hop Ales. I’d love a few six-packs of this beer. Beer, the Clear History button of my brain.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle picked up at Capone’s on 11.07.2010. Consumed the same day. Poured into my favorite tulip.
Pours is a light orange-apricot color that is mostly transparent. Small white head without much retention and doesn’t have all that much lacing. Nose is really bright Citra hops with a good dose of citrus fruits as well as plenty of tropical notes.
Taste hits fairly hard with some really nice tropical notes. Slight bitterness on a light to medium body. Nose really popped to me, though the flavor cut back. Good body but really nice drinkability. I don’t like this as much as the Citra of Brotherly Love, but it’s still quite good.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Pours translucent orange amber, topped with a small off white head. Aroma of grapefruit and orange rind, tempered by honey. Begins sweet for an instant, but the hops quickly come to the forefront. Earth and grapefruit notes cling to the palate. The hop flavor is far more pronounced than the aroma. Really tasty, well balanced and very drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to Armin for the bottle! Poured medium straw golden with a short-ish, but long-lived white head. The aroma picked up juicy pineapple and grapefruit notes upfront, with deeper floral hoppage not far behind.. honeyed malts supported well. The flavor found more of the pineapple and floral bitterness throughout over honey and pale malts.. more peppery around the palate as it warmed up.. very tasty stuff. Medium-bodied and fairly dry on the palate with well-placed, well-balanced, and interesting hops.. I’d drink a whole lot more if I had it.

12oz bottle. Beautiful orange brown pour with a thin bubbly head. Spotty lacing and good carbonation. Aroma is hoppy and sweet, hints of peach and citrus. Flavor is earthy and piney, slight malt backing. Not too heavy, very easy to drink.
