Scratch #37 features Warrior and Cluster hops with a touch of Columbus. It pours a bright gold with a white cap and soft carbonation. Ripe fruits are present on the nose, and continue in the taste giving a lush, tropical papaya-like flavor. This ample bitterness is offset by sweet Munich malt that lingers through each taste. Enjoy our latest IPA foray, and stay tuned for future experiments in the style. Research has rarely been so rewarding.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, caramel, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a cloudy golden with a tiny white head. Harsh hoppy and somewhat phenollic aroma. Medium body, sweet malts and fruit but again this rather harsh hoppiness. Not sure if I’m really fond of the hop profile here. 030612

Draft at Churchkey, side-by-side 37-38-39-40. Cloudy golden color. Aroma of pleasant feet and Christmas wreath. Taste of citrus, light pine. Scant bitterness. Tasty.

A: The pour is a slightly cloudy, but generally clear, straw yellow color with a white head. S: Starts off with a decent citrus aroma before taking a nose dive. Lots of abrasive smells to this one like rubbing alcohol and cleaning solution. I get a little bit of candied lemon, but it doesn’t really help. T: The flavor isn’t any better. Again, very harsh with lots of alcohol and solvent character. There’s a weird candy sweetness in the middle of tall of this, and a moderate bitterness. M: The body is medium and so is the carbonation. D: Unfortunately, this Scratch beer was not really up to what I expect from Troegs. Not a fan of this beer at all.

Enjoyable IPA, thanks to Michael-Pollack. Pours medium golden, with a lasting foamy head. Smooth mouthfeel, this was very drinkable and with a well balanced bitterness enoyable though high abv
