12 oz bottle. Pours a deep ruby amber color with a small fizzy tan head. Aroma of faint raspberries, light cacao and hints of malt. Taste of faint watery raspberries, malt and grains. murphym45 (769) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 15, 2011
Bottle from the Troeg’s Brewery. Pours clear ruby/brown with a bit of tan head that doesn’t stick around very long. The aroma is very complex, starting off with a strong raspberry presence along with some belgian yeast and banana notes, but there is also a kind of woody aroma that is hard to pin down. The taste starts out somewhat nutty with a faint sweetness then moves to a bit of a light sour/tart raspberry note and finishes with a hint of chocolate. Medium to light bodied. Not sure how much I really like it, but very unique, complex, and fun to drink and think about. DiarmaidBHK (5435) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 12, 2011
Pours a ruby red with a small head. Very tart and dry on the tongue but the more it warms up you get these nice chocolate flavor. Aroma is full of raspberry. I hope they put this in stores. abcfan (920) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 4, 2011
What a great brew! Pours a ruby red with a thin white head. Aroma is full of raspberry and chocolate. Taste is full of raspberry, with chocolate notes, chocolate is more apparent as it warms. Can definitely tell the yeast is the same strand as Mad Elf. Very balanced and goes down SMOOTH. Looking forward to opening my growler.
