UPDATED: MAR 9, 2012 Woo hoo, my first Troegs scratch series. Just reading the descriptions of these beers gets me excited and fills me with respect for Troegs. Deep gold with a quarter-inch of egg-shell-colored foam. Looks a bit hazy, like it may be unfiltered. Aroma is a blast of floral-citrus hops. The spicy smell of raw hop pellets comes to mind right away as well; this may be a result of super-aggressive hopping; I don’t think it adds or detracts from the aroma. More lemon-orange citrus. Nice light-to-medium body with semi-creamy feel to the carbonation. Hop flavor is right up-front, a floral and clean citrus combination, one that is more on the grapefruit side. Spicy yet not harsh bitterness, mild clean sweetness infused. This is a well-built beer and I’m super excited to try the Perpetual IPA they speak of!!!!
