On tap at Pinocchio’s. Clearish burgundy orange with white foam. Nose is toffee, rye and grass. Medium body with a tingle but light enough to be refreshing. Pours reddish brown with an off white head. Aroma is biscuit, grass, rye and caramel. Taste is sweet with lots of breadyness, a hint of the rye adds some tartness. Smooth with a somewhat oily mouth feel. Very nice. orangesol (987) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 8, 2012
Served on-tap at the brewery.
A - Pours clear amber brown with a nice one finger tall white head leaving small rings of lace down most of the glass.
S - Smells of mildly toasted grains, caramel sweetness, toffee, light citric fruit and some nice grassy hop bitterness. Pretty consistent nose throughout the course of the glass.
T - Starts off with a good bit of caramel and toffee sweetness slowly giving way to hints of chewy rye bread, bit of fresh fruit, grassy citric hops and a tiny bit of spice. Finish is a little chewy with some lingering sweetness, clinging to the palate long after consumption.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Kinda sweet initially growing a little grainy toward the end of the glass but overall a good feel.
O - Not too shabby. I haven’t had too many Vienna Lagers but this one was very nice. I wouldn’t turn down another one in the future.
