COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scratch #70 - Fancy That Triple IPA, is the creation of our filler operator Joel Bigler. Joel originally brewed this intensely bitter & aromatic brew for the Al’s of Hampton Triple IPA Homebrew Contest finishing in the top three. Hints of alcohol come through on this beer but the playmaker is the bold hop flavor that dominates this beer. At 10.4% ABV Fancy That Triple IPA is nicely drinkable as it bludgeons you with intense hoppy goodness.

Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Nose is dominated by citrus hops with a bit of sweet caramel malt. Big hoppy flavor with a pleasingly dry finish. Good DIPA

Solid, but not earth shattering. It killed my palate, which is okay when consuming an IPA. The alcohol burn was a bit much, didn’t match well with the floral and citrus aroma of the hops. Super dry.

Served on-tap at the brewery. A - Pours slightly hazed golden orange with a nice one and a half finger tall white head leaving small trails of lace down parts of the glass. S - Smells of lots of citric hops, fresh grass and pine resin initially growing much sweeter as it sits in the glass. The booze is ever present growing stronger and stronger as it sits in the glass, nearly overpowering everything else. T - Starts off with a big citric hop bite slowly giving way to hints of pine resin, citric fruit rind, fresh cut grass and plenty of sweet caramel malt. The booze is ever present, only growing stronger as it sits in the glass. Finish is quite bitter, combining with the booze to leave the palate dried. M - This is definitely a big beer. Plenty of hop bitterness and booze in the feel with moderate carbonation and a very dry finish. O - I have had this beer four times now and each time it has been the same. Good amount of flavor and aroma but plenty of booze as well. I wouldn’t turn another down but it wouldn’t be my first choice either.

Draft. Very good all around strong ipa. Powerful floral and pine hop aroma. Deep gold, clear, nice head. Bitter taste but the alcohol doesn’t come through directly. Strong recommend.
