12oz. Bottle: Aroma of yeast, coriander, juniper, and spices. Poured gold/yellow/urine in color with a small, fizzy, off-white head that diminished quickly. Hazy. No lacing. Flavor of yeast, coriander, and spices. Medium body. Chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Yeasty finish. 10.1%ABV very well hidden. jason (1834) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2008
Bottle. Poured a hazy golden body with almost no head. Aroma is yeast, orange zest, corriander. Flavor is very yeasty, pineapple, orange, lemon. pineypower (3347) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - MAR 30, 2008
Pours out a lively carbonated, slightly hazy light orange. Aroma is very interesting, yeast, interesting spice and notes of juniper, reminiscent slightly of the nose of gin. Taste is complex, clove, citrus, heavy yeast, spice, some banana and a dry slightly alcoholic finish with a bit of a burn. Extremely interesting. ganache (6032) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 22, 2008
Bottle. Sweet wheaty aroma with strong clove and a bit of yeast, lesser orange rind with stronger lemongrass. No sign of alcohol. Body pours a hazy golden with little head. Complex taste features extremely strong clove and lemon, strong notes of wheat and yeast, medially alcoholic and sticky with bubblegum and a touch of orange. Strong spiciness tends toward ginger, faint allspice, and faint nutmeg, but the juniper notes quickly come to dominate. Just a touch of Heavyweight’s Gruit, I suppose from the yarrow. Not particularly warming, but with a full, malty body and slightly tart prickling. Easily one of the best experiments I’ve had this year - worthy of the snifter that held it! ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - MAR 21, 2008

12oz bottle, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a hazy, golden orange color; off-white head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Tons of floral notes, cinnamon, spice (especially coriander) and even a touch of hot pepper / pepper in the aroma; intense, and showing a fair bit of alcohol. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: slightly relaxed carbonation; very sticky, chewy Belgian sugar and flowers and coriander upfront; tons of spice and sweetness in this beer; plenty of alcoholic warmth. A bit off-balance. Lengthy finish, showing sticky Belgian sugar, yeast, and bread. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - MAR 21, 2008
Poured a clear light gold-cooper color with a thin white head. The aroma was fairly spiced with some sweet malt underneath. Spicy flavor with light malt notes. Hint of citrus finds its way out. Medium bodied. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 21, 2008
(12oz bottle, thanks mj) Small off-white head atop hazy apple juice body. Aroma is moderately sweet, bubblegum, straw, some orange, honey. Taste is moderately sweet, bubblegum, orange, alcohol, light berry. Some alcohol burn. Sticky medium-full body. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - MAR 19, 2008
12 oz bottle from Dickinsonbeer. Hazy orange in color with a medium to large off white head. Aroma is pretty weird but I enjoyed it- yeasty with phenols and light banana esters, and alot of spices- coriander, flowers which I guess was the yarrow and light notes of vanilla and candi sugar. Taste is fruity with some citrus esters, bready yeast, light banana, and moderately spicy with coriander, berries, and floral notes. A moderate honey sweetness throughout with touches of sugar, medium bodied, a touch of alcohol and lingering spices in the finish. Before I had a chance to look it up, I was originally guessing this may have been a Grand Cru. A bit weird but I enjoyed it alot. Thanks Paul. Pours turbid canary with 1-finger of white head. This one looks outstanding. The aroma is a mishmash; very complex, with a lot of components. I got peachy fruit, funky notes, spicy yeast, florals, mild berry notes, and some rock sugary notes. The taste is fruity up front, with defined apricotty, berry, and peachy notes, coupled with some rock sugary malt, spicy yeast, hopcitrus, and floral notes as it warms. The palate is rich, very unique in the flavor profile, and very smooth. This beer defies style characteristics, and will thus frustrate and irk the true purists, and I think this one is criminally underrated. I’m just glad I bought a sixer, because these scratch beers don’t last long.
