Pours a hazy bright yellow with a tad thin white head. The nose is spicy, very pungent, peppery, rotten fruit, gross. The flavor is astringent, peppery, sweet, strange, warming spice. The palate is astringent. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 30, 2008
Bottle shared at the Carolina Crew tasting by ucusty - thanks, David! Second most confounding beer of the tasting? A weird golden pour, with a nose that’s complex in the unsettling way: baby powder, flour, biscuits, and cinnamon. Strange spice, diacetyl, and yeast in the taste. I kept thinking of Fat Bastard from the Austin Powers movies, which is not a good sign however you understand that. durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 29, 2008
Bottle shared by ucusty. Yikes. What is going on here? A hazy golden pour with a thin head... looks decent enough... oh, but then the aroma hits and overpowers! Baby powder, cheap perfume, hibiscus. Yowsah. Also didn’t realize it was 10%. Suprisingly tastes better than it smells, but this was not a beer I enjoyed.

Bottle thanks to riversideAK. Pours gold with smaller white head. Spice and yeast on the nose. Flavor is very sweet with different spices, light yeast. Texture is almost like syrup really coats the throat. Nice little punch of hops towards the end. I knew it was higher in alcohol, but would have never guessed 10%. yespr (45412) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 5, 2008
12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a diminished white head. Mild spiced and light earthy aroma. Spiced cardemomme dense flavoured with a mild wheaty note. Ends spiced and floral. Light yeasty note into the far finish. GriffinAvenue (396) - Winchester, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 30, 2008
Bottle. Translucent yellow-urine coloring. No head. Juice-like. Yeasty, lavender, spicy. Assaults the nose, especially the peppery-coriander mix. Flavoring is much more delicate and not as in your face as the aroma. Best served semi-warm. I’m a fan. Ungstrup (37558) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 29, 2008
Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with fruity notes of peaches. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit - again peaches being stronges, but also notes of ginger. Thanks Storm for sharing. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - OCT 26, 2008
Bottle, thanks hopdog! Pours clear pale amber with a lacy white head. Sweet aroma of spice, cedar, flowers and fruit. Very creamy, silky medium body with a trace of fine carbonation. The mouthfeel of this beer is quite unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. Lightly sweet and spicy taste that isn’t too far afield from the pumpkin beers I’ve tried lately. Barely biter and lightly spicy finish... this one just fades into oblivion. I just noticed that the ABV is listed at 10.1! I never would have guessed.
