3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Served on-tap at the brewery.
A - Pours golden yellow with a nice one finger tall white head, dissipating down to a thin film, leaving little to no lace down the glass. Nice color but it goes a little flat.
S - Smells of honey sweetness, orange marmalade, dull belgian yeast and some alcohol. The honey sweetness and booze only grow as it sits in the glass. It is a little one dimensional but it works pretty well.
T - Starts off with a TON of honey sweetness slowly giving way to hints of dulled fruity yeast, orange marmalade and even some fresh zest. The booze is ever present, only growing stronger as the sweetness completely takes over. Finish is best described as sweet heat, lingering on the palate long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate to low carbonation. Sweet, boozy feel from start to finish. After about half a glass I really started to struggle with this one.
O - I like the concept for this one but the honey really took it over the top. Dial back some of that sweetness and I think this one would be much better. As it stands its a decent beer but I doubt I would get it again.
Pours a thick and hazy orange amber with two fingers of sandy tan head. Nose is weird, some stone fruit and strange fruity esters. Uncooked bread dough and heavy yeast notes. Not too great. Overly estery and bready on the front of the mouth with lots of yeasty notes. Medium full body. Meh changeup45 (1731) - Lake Mary, Florida, USA - JUL 6, 2013
Got this one through Secret Santa. Thanks BMart! Amber color with a thin off-white head. The aroma has some floral notes, fruity apple like esters, and an orange blossom honey scent. The flavors are sweet; caramel, apple pie, sugary notes, and there is some spice towards the back end. Not overly alcoholic but it’s there. The body is relatively thick and syrupy. Interesting beer. Glad I got to try it. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2013
This poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was of light spices, leomon zest, coriander, and candy sugar. Flavor was beet sugar, pale grain, yeast, light honey, and booze. Pretty good example of the style. Butters (4063) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Sampled thanks to chris and carrie. Hazy dark gold with ring of offwhite. Pepper spice with honey and sweet yeast. Good belgian yeast and some vanilla. Pretty damn tasty. Not too sweet. Pretty good. BVery (11241) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - FEB 19, 2013
Tap at Brew Kettle. Mostly clear orange pour. Plays more like a scotch ale than a tripel, but good nonetheless.

The aroma ia caramel, fruit, pepper. The appearance is slightly hazy amber, white head. The flavor is caramel, fruit, pepper. The finish is pepper, pine needle, slightly sweet. Medium in body, oily mouthfeel. Not bad at all. timc100 (314) - Park Ridge, Illinois, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Tap. Subtle, well balanced aroma of belgian spice, coriander, orange peel, slight mustiness - refreshing, mild citrus hops. Very refreshing taste - mild. Feels great - silky smooth. reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Pours a clear light amber with a thick off white head. Aroma has light spice and notable honey...boozy. flavor is sweet but still has some pepper and earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and the finish is dry and earthy/bitter. This is an odd one... Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Thanks, Moll. Slight pepper and spice. Flavor is quite bready, which seemed likely given the color. Medium body. A bit too sweet. ben4321 (6678) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Location: Draft at Ginger Man (NYC), 1/19/13
Aroma: The nose is fairly light, it is sweet and fruity, with banana, Belgian yeast, and a little spice
Appearance: This one pours a cloudy orange color, with a thick, foamy, white head
Flavor: Tastes similar to the nose, banana and yeast standout, a bit sweet with some spice too
Palate: The body of this beer is light-medium, and it has a fairly soft carbonation
I thought this was a decent one overall, but it wasn’t really a favorite for me. Fairly sweet. Still though, it works decently and is worth trying, especially if you are a fan of sweeter beers.
