Via trade with Bmart. The aroma is sweet, caramel, chcolate, toffee, vanilla, oak, and a bit of bright citrus. The appearance is deep black, tan head, oily lacing in glass. The flavor is like the aroma, chocolate, caramel, toffee, vanilla, and a hint of oak or wood, with a tad of citrus. The finish is chocolate, roasty, pine, citrus. Thick in body, chewy. Very, very nice. Apache (63) - Florida, USA - FEB 8, 2014
Pours initially with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Roasted grain in the aroma. Slight booziness and coffee in the new taste. Not as thick and rich as Hunaphu, nor as spicy. Beerathon (1681) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 13, 2012
One of the best Russian Imperial Stouts I have ever laid lips on. Pitch black with thin mocha head. Vanilla in both nose and taste. Booze well hidden. The hop bitterness is magical. jbdpsu82 (95) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 28, 2013

Appearance – The beer is served a black color with a one finger cola brown head. The head fades relatively fast to give a good level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is a sweet blend of light chocolate, vanilla and molasses. Mixed with these smells are notes of a a earthy and citrus hop , some coffee and a very light bourbon smell.
Taste – The taste is on the sweeter side overall, but is nicely balanced by roasted and malty flavors as well. It begins with flavors of a dark brown bread mixed with molasses and brown sugar sweetness. A sweet chocolate cake flavor mixed with vanilla come to the tongue. Some more roasted malt accompanied by a lighter earthy hop flavor as well as a good bourbon alcohol flavor come to the tongue at the end, and with the sweet leave a very satisfying roasted boozy sweet flavor to linger on in the mouth.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the creamier side with a rather average carbonation level . The creamy body is nice for the darker, sweet and bourbon flavors of the brew allowing them all to linger and be fully sensed by the tongue.
Overall –This is one fantastic imperial stout. It has a nice blend of sweet, malt, roast, booze and hop. I hop they make this more then just a rotation. Troegs needs a good permanent imperial stout and I think they have it with this one. Delicious.

Pours unclear blackish in color with a creamy cocoa head. Aroma brings a ton of hops, unexpected for sure, with some toasty chocolate malts. Flavor brings sweet chocolate as well settling with a creamy body and some zing on the tongue, hot but so smooth overall! hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 24, 2013
12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, floral, lighter smoke, and a trace of dark fruits. Tastes of chocolate, dark fruits, licorice, roast, vanilla, and cake batter ice cream. Overall alcohol content well hidden. boxofrane (2559) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Draft at lucky lab. Pours pitch black with a big brown head. The aroma Is complex with milk chocolate, coffee, dark chocolate, sweet dark fruit. The taste is close to a mocha drink from a coffee shop. There is a lot of milk chocolate, big sweetness and coffee. Light booze but not bad at all. Huge sticky palate. kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2013
Bottle. Pours a very deep black body with a great frothy and foamy dark brown head that had excellent retention and left lots of sticky lacing. The nose is big and intense with tons of roast and chocolate, some heavy burnt caramel sweetness, and a light hint of alcohol. This is one of the thickest and most intense aromas I’ve smelled in a long time. Reminds me a lot of Bell’s Expedition. The flavor is similar as well, rich and intense roastiness with a nice burnt caramel sweetness in the background. Some moderate burnt malt and hop bitterness on the finish. There’s a bit of alcohol present, but rather well kept in check for such a huge beer. Pretty great stuff, very much reminds me of Expedition. Would have liked to keep a few of these in the cellar for a few years and see what happens, but I drank 5 of these before this bottle I’m rating.
